She's a great professor. If you do the readings and take good notes you should do well on the tests. I really liked her lectures they were always fun and interesting. She obviously has a lot of experience in her field. I thought her class was great and I've had her for a couple of classes so far.

The time is in confusing formats throughout the course and all formats are not compatible and when I asked for help (like a clear timeline of how to define time periods) she said that different people label time periods differently but no clear explanation for what we were using and how they fit together. The tests were very hard.

A lot of reading is involved as well as watching videos to know what is going to be on the tests. Even when you use powerpoint and videos she made for you there was info on the test that wasn't covered. I did not like the class

She is so easy to talk to and is super nice. Her lectures and videos were very interesting and made it really fun to learn. She knows her stuff. She assigns lots of reading which there are no quizzes about but she will expect you to know for the class as she will ask about the readings. two papers about five page which are on books that you choose

(Took her online class) Her material is very interesting and it was a great class but her tests are pretty hard. They are very detailed, too detailed. Also they are way too long for the time given. Totally not fair. How does someone answer 35 very in depth questions in 20 minutes? We're not going to Harvard...

Awesome class and Awesome prof. She keeps it interesting and entertaining while really wanting to see students do well. Attendence may not be mandatory but still necessary. Read the material and take notes - power points not available for review thru D2L. Alot of info for tests so study and you should do fine.

Great professor, obviously loves what she teaches. Took the class online. I would definitely recommend taking Gold! Class was interesting, tests were pretty decent. There are weekly quizzes, but they're open book and you get a half hour for 10 questions, and the lowest 2 are dropped. Great course!

Great Prof. She loves the subject, and tries really hard to make you love it too. Attendance is important, and she'll know your name by the second week, so she'll know if you're skipping. Tests are difficult, but once you get use to her style, you'll know what to study for. You NEED the textbook, or you won't survive. Promise.

I think that she might have been a better professor if she would have put some effort into our class. I took her online class and she would give us the wrong study guides and often we just wouldn't have our quizzes for no reason at all. Those quizzes are probably one of the best ways to study for her tests, so it made me kind of mad.

Prof. Gold is an awesome teacher! She tries to make the class interesting and it's obvious that she has a deep passion for archaeology. She is an expert on North American archaeology, and takes the time to answer queestions from her students. She is silly. There were 4 tests and 1 paper. Super easy class as long as you go.

Dr. Gold comes to class ready and enthusiastic to teach Anth., and she knows the subject well. She likes to entertain the class; she once brought a stone knapper to demonstrate tool-making! If you read the material, strive to understand what she is teaching, and go to class, passing should be a breeze.

Dr. Gold is great! She really knows her stuff about North American Archaeology, particularly when it comes to archaeology on the East Coast. There is a paper and 2 exams. We watched many videos and had many class discussions. Power point was used and was helpful when studying for tests or quizzes.

She is a great teacher, she knows what she is talking about and does a good job. The ONLY problem that i had was when, in her class, we would talk about things that she isn't an expert in, she seemed to shut down and not teach as great as she always does.

A teacher who is passionate about her subject and very experienced, too. Attendance is essential as well as keeping up with the recommended readings. Dr. Gold will be much happier if you regularly participate in class discussions. Her grading is a bit conservative, so if you want an exceptional grade you'll need to work for it.
