Smart but terrifying. She depressed everyone in the class, scared us, and then criticized us. She is never clear on assignments and rarely answers questions. She picks out great novels but it’s not worth the pain…trust me.

Great class I really learned a lot. She really knows what she's talking about. Its a great class she's a good grader and there isn't a lot of work just the usual reading. I'm a history major and her class really makes you think, I enjoyed it.

I recommend this course. I learned so much in this class. Prof. Valiukenas knows her stuff, what you think of when you think of a "REAL" professor. You know you're in college when you're in her class, except you think you're at Harvard when you listen to her lecture. She's amazing! Grades fairly, you just have to do your part.

So smart, a true scholar. She is someone you expect to be teaching at Harvard or Wellesley. If you're an English major do not graduate until you've taken a class with her. Listen to her lectures, take notes and you'll learn. You'll get your money's worth if learning is your goal.

Excellent professor! She seems a little rough around the edges at first, but she is extremely intelligent, a good teacher, and a very fair grader. You definitely have to earn your grade in her class! The work is not difficult as long as you do the readings and apply yourself. I would absolutely take any other class she teaches.

I did not enjoy this class. It wasn't that the class was hard, it was her approach to the students that made it terrible. She's just plain mean. She failed almost half my class. I'd advise against taking a class with her.

If you want to learn and earn your grade, she is the best professor in the department -- a true scholar. Anyone who complains is looking for an easy ride. When you finish a course with her you know you've not only learned about the subject but also how to think outside the box. She is open to students' opinions but challenges you to THINK!! A+

Excellent teacher and I really like her style of teaching. She is very clear and organized. Her grading is fair - you get the grade you deserve. Definitely one of the best professors I've had. You actually *gasp* learn. Highly recommended. I would retake a class with her teaching if I had the chance
