Very rude, nasty, comments are meant with light humor - so don't take anything too seriously. Tests are graded heavily, quizzes are all from the readings (he gives handouts.) Textbooks NOT USED ONCE.

A month in the semester my original professor got ill and unfortunately passed, so we got him as a sub. He is horrible. He's rude, completely bias on the Greek world. We didn't even touch the Roman Empire until the last week. He cursed kids out for talking in class discussion, &his tests are ridiculous he takes point away for the stupidest things

Such a funny guy but hardest tests I've ever taken. The quizzes have nothing to do with lectures. The tests review sheet consists of 35 plus terms to study but on the test he only picks 8 and you get to pick 5 to completely write every detail about otherwise you're bound to only get half credit. the second part of the test is 4 essaytopicshepicks1

I took his History 230 class on the Greek and Roman World and loved it. If you pay attention and memorize well it's easy to pass his class. He grades a little tough on tests but only because he wants a lot of information. A lot of his stories are very interesting and I plan on taking more of his courses.

This class seems to invite the strangest deviants. Tests are strange. They're easy, but certain details are seen as important that others would think are pretty obvious For instance, the gods are immortal, and not stating this is -1 pt. Class is interesting and involves much discussion on certain anatomy of the gods and statues.

So all over the place, it's not even funny. He just launched into lecture the first day of class w/o explaining what to expect from the class which basically set us up for failure. He rambles a lot & it's hard to extract the info you need for notes since it's always story-time w/ this guy. So, listen, take notes & try to study! Tests are no joke!

I had him for Medieval/renaissance Europe and was excited about it beforehand, and I was not disappointed. I found his lectures very interesting, but he gives practically no notes, so if you take notes you have to write as he talks. I didn't have a problem with this but I know some people did. He's funny, but beware if you're easily offended.

I took Professor Kontos for The Greek and Roman World in my first semester. I REALLY enjoyed him a lot. Great teacher in general, but he is a bit hard so be prepared for that. I would stay study hard, take notes, and concentrate while he speaks in class.

Funny, raunchy, has personal experience as a Greek and extensive travel to the Mediterranean. He tries to create interest and teaches a tremendous amount of material in a very short period. Take this professor.

This man loves his topic, but if you can't take a bit of raunchy humor (i.e. he may call you an eternal virgin - or the opposite)stay away. He tries his best to explain things to you, bhut can be hard to follow. When you ask a question he talks in circles. He was perpetually late. Seems like a cool guy to have a beer with but not as a prof

Very good sense of humor. If history isn't your thing, usually his jokes and behvior will keep you awake. However, if you love history you will love listening to what he has to say. He is very easy as well. Hates Goshen and barbarians.

uhm. one of the worst classes I think I have ever taken. The lectures were mind-boggling he tries to go everywhere at once. I also found them to be boring and difficult to stay awake during considering we spoke about the same thing every single day.

His lectures are painful, inacurate and all over the place. He jumps back and forth from one topic to another and relates EVERYTHING back to the ancient Greeks. His tests and quizzes are fair, but the lectures are seriously a killer. Otherwise, he's a decent guy; except for the inappropriate jokes & language that have nothing to do with the topics.

An excellent professor. Has a very good sense of humor. He and I would rag on each other during class but when it was time to be serious again, I knew. Very friendly and he likes to engage you into the conversations. He has such an expansive knowledge of the Greek world. The tiny, most interesting details he says are missed by most, so listen care
