Comment:
The professor is extremely unorganized, not stating when assignments are due, consistently changing due dates, little coordination with another class we had to collaborate with. In a class of about ten students she time and time agains calls everyone by names of people who are note even in the class. Secretly an environmental course.

This is by far the best class I have ever taken at Carleton- I recommend it to everyone. Lost of little assignments to boost marks, easy midterm, creative poster assignment, this is how a university class should be run!!! will take another class with her in the future.

Professor knew material extreamly well. LIked giving group work, which I hated. had 3 essays, with exam. Not a bad professor. Not super approachable though.

First of all she is very cute! Hehe, but I did find her lectures lacking a certain umph and it was sometimes hard to understand her during lectures. Her outlines on the overhead weren't all that helpful either.

Interesting topic + bad teaching = boring class - honestly I found it more interesting studying for the exam than sitting through 12 lectures with her. Her exam was straight forward, but she is an incredibly hard marker... basically the class has potential (if she is replaced)

A very interesting topic, not well conveyed. All I have to say about this class is that hard work does not pay off! If you expect to use this as part of your GPA, think again...

Soooooo sweet. Love her, HATE my t.a.She obviously wants us to do the very best we can. Very understanding. I got sick and she let me hand it in 2 weeks late. She even handed out the exam question three weeks early. She made me love Canadian history. Plus, her accent is tres adorable.

Hideous boring lectures compounded by lack of English skills. An uneloquent microhistorical rambling delivery only heightens the possibility of napping. Blown out of the water by Hillmer's take on the same material. It's not all her fault, but that doesn't make her any less banal.

Hardest exams ever! She may give the questions in advance, but be prepared to do miserably anyways. Far too little time to write as much as she expects you to. Very dry lectures despite the compassionate subjects. She is sketchy beyond sketchy. She may love history, but you won't after her classes!!

Wonderful Professor. Obviously cares about her students, informative, extremely intelligent. Some classes may be a little boring, but sometimes history is like that and I'm a history major! I'd love to have her as a prof again! I don't feel like my time is wasted in her class, unlike in others.

She is a very helpful and knowledgeable professor. As for those students who have complained about her accent, they couldn’t be more wrong. She speaks very eloquently and clearly. Her lectures are very well organized.

She's a pretty good professor. She is quick at responding emails, and is willing to find answers for you ASAP. The assignments and "workshops" are often a pain, and utterly useless. Did well in every aspect in the class, but ended up with a low final grade. Hmmmmm, something wrong there...

Prof. Marshall is great. Yes, she has an accent, but it's not as bad as some other profs in other departments. I find she speaks quite eloquently. Her classes are a pleasure to be in, and are very interesting despite the "boring" titles.

One of the worst profs I've ever had. Clearly very knowledgeable, but horribly inefficient at communicating in english. If I hear her say "idears" instead of "ideas" again, I'm going to lose it.
