Extremely hard marker!! For someone to score a 5 of their LPI and recieve a C- grade in essay writing is ridiculous! He is very vague on instruction when it comes to assignments. He got sick near the end of the course and Toby(clueless teacher) replaced him. Don seems like a friendly person but if you want to score a high grade..don't take him.

Wonderful lecturer...seems very friendly while teaching, and then is very, very cold when you approach him. I think he is shy. His knowledge base is inspiring, don't be put off by his one-on-one attitude.

This man knows his Chaucer! He is really fun and has an amazingly infectious giggle. Takes something that could be a dry subject and twists it to suit his modern audience with constant reference to something they can relate to. Sit at the front for full affect. He can even do accents with incredible skill!

If your good in English..take him, if not, he is boring as *&^*&%*. I don;t think he marks accordingly. Takes him less than a week to mark 3 classes of work? Impossible for an English teacher. Once this guy remembers your style of writing, he'll give you the same mark throughout.

so much passion for lit. and poetry, makes the class far more interesting than most. knows more information on writers and poets than past profs. LOTS OF ENTHUSIASM... but can get carried away in stories, and analysis...

Very passionate about literature. You can see it in his face and hear it when he reads. I really liked his class. He's fair in marking papers and is willing to give you whatever help you need as long as you're willing to put in the time and effort. He's a really nice guy and his radical views are pretty entertaining too.

It is not an easy thing at all to keep an English classroom from becoming a sleep hole, Dr.Wood has done a great job at bringing the class to interest. You will find time flies fast in his classes, and you will have quite some fun. He is a rather strict marker though. But hey, it really is difficult to be an English teacher in the first place, no?

Don Wood is a very nice teacher. His lectures are very interesting, easy to follow and always related to the essay topics that he assigns. His class is not hard. He assigns the essay topics 2 weeks in advance which gives you enough time to write a good essay. He is a very fair marker. TAKE HIM! You won't regret it!!

I loved his lectures! He always had interesting stories and his historical knowledge kicked ass! I didn't know what I had until it was gone...try taking Stephen Haag if you want to really know how boring an english class can be.

The class wasn't painful to be in. His lectures were interesting but I didn't get a great mark, mainly beccause I didn't try hard enough. Anyways, nothing horribly wrong with the guy.

Don talks a lot(gets boring after a while).Too much info that you are not going to use for your essays. Not a hard marker, watch your structure, grammar and you will be ok. In class essays are hard as well as final, because he makes topic difficult. Don assumes that you know how to write complex essays.
