Professor Perkins is hands down my favorite professor I've ever had! His tests highly depend on lectures so you must go to class if you want to pass. History is his passion and it shows. He is very funny and will use Forest Gump quotes whenever he can!

Professor Perkins is amazing! He's funny, makes history interesting (a tough feat), and really cares about his students. He has lots of pop quizzes, so make sure every day before class you look over your notes. If you skip lecture, there's NO way you will pass, so make sure you go. Besides, his lectures are interesting, funny, and insightful!

I took Perkins for both 1301 and 1302! He was my favorite professor at TCC. His lectures are amazing and will let students take audio recordings. He does give pop quizzes often so be sure to stay on top of studying your notes. If you take studying seriously, you'll pass this class with no problems.

Sweet. Hilarious. Old-school. Don't leave in the middle of class or be late. Pop quizzes can be your friend or enemy, study your notes. Spent too much time taking notes, couldn't even focus on material. Grades essays like an english professor so take them seriously. Do not recommend.

The couple of papers he assigns are a pain, since he really doesn't make the grading criteria clear. But other than that grumble, I liked his class, despite the difficulty.

My favorite professor because he makes learning history easy and fun! He does give pop quizzes but they are relatively easy if you study and it makes the tests easier. Tests have essay questions but he tells you the possible promps before hand.

Doctor Perkins is a wonderful professor! While his tests are difficult you should do fine if you take good notes and study prior to the exams. He's also a fantastic lecturer and I always looked forward to attending his class.

Mr. Perkins is a great professor, but this class isn't easy! You must take good notes and study thoroughly! He gives out several pop quizzes, so always be prepared, ALWAYS! Tests need to be taken seriously, they require an essay question. He does awesome lectures, it's never boring. He has a good sense of humor, but don't show up late!!!

If you get the chance to take him then do it! His lectures are extremely interesting. His class goes by really fast because of how into the lectures you get. You do have lots of pop quizzes so you have to look at your notes frequently and show up to class because the slides are not online. And watch out for the exam essay's with every test.

Mr. Perkins is an excellent professor. His class and lectures were clear and to the point. He does give pop quizzes, but only because he wants you to be on your feet, and read/study the notes he gives you. Lecture course. Lets you record. You have to want to pass his course. I missed classes the very start of the semester and ruined my exam grades

Perkins is one of the only teachers to make me enjoy history. His lectures are funny and interesting, although he does still use an overhead projector. His notes are outlined and help you keep up with his lectures. Pop Quizzes saved my grade in this class!

Do not take anyone else for history. He gives the best lectures, is incredibly passionate about student success, always answers questions after class and is available during office hours. The textbook can be helpful if you learn that way, but everything you need is in the lecture. Pop quizzes are easy and prop up your grade.

Professor Perkins is INCREDIBLE. He's an excellent lecturer and an admirable person. I took him last semester, and he still calls me by name when I see him in the halls. I came out of his class loving history. That's the mark of a great teacher! Miss you, Mr. Perkins!!

Mr. Perkins is a great teacher with lots of rich information. He is not a lenient grader but, he really wants to see his students succeed. He does what he does so that you will learn!! As with every teacher you will have to learn what they expect and then you will know exactly what to do. I'm looking forward to History 1302 with him also:)

Professor Perkins is the best teacher ever! His lectures are very clear and he gives you 3 possible essay questions at the beginning of the unit then gives you only 1 on the test. Gives "pop quizzes" about every 2 days. You can record his lectures but if you follow his notes and what he says you'll be just fine. He gives great life lessons as well.

I took Dr. Perkins's honors class. I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures. He is a tough grader though, his average is a C, above average is a B and exceptional is an A. That puts most everyone in the high C or low B category. There are quizzes weekly that help with your grades. I would recommend because I really did learn from his class.

Dr. Perkins is literally the best teacher I've ever had. I love his stories and he's a great speaker. But if you are looking for that easy A, he's not the teacher for you. Never have out your phone. There are three exams with an essay- from memory. 10-15 pop-quizzes. Find a good spot the first day. You'll learn something in this class.

Loved taking his class. Lectures were very interesting and his own personal stories with the history made it easier to comprehend and more relatable. Definitely would take his class again.
