Rhodes knows his stuff. His tests can be very tricky since they test on if you know AND can reason through the material. However,good prep for the MCAT. ADVICE: Take detailed and ORGANIZED notes and compare with friends. Recommend a laptop! DON'T SKIP!!! Work practice tests, but don't stop there. His curve will help at end of semester.

He knows what he is teaching but is extremely boring. And his tests are extremely convoluted and hard. I did fine in the class because he curved otherwise I would have had a C.I would advise to take McNabb t in Spring rather than Rhoads in Fall. Trust me,you do not want to answer a multiple choice test with options from A through I

I studied hard, and got an A on 3 of the 4 tests. He let me skip one test because he drops one anyway and I had a good excuse. His tests are hard, but he gives practice tests and if you know your notes really well, go to class, and READ the textbook, getting an A is not hard. He also curves about 6% on each exam, so I made a 98%, and so can you.

Very knowledgeable and expects you to know all of the material too, so don't slack off. Good teacher, even though his teaching style is very scattered. Extremely detailed tests. Watch out.

This is the hardest science class i've ever taken. He doesnt take attendance, but it's the only class i never missed b/c you take atleast 8 pgs. of notes each time. His tests are like puzzles, with 10 answer choices for each question. however, i learned a lot and he's a really great teacher,loved goin to class just so, so, so hard!

Dr. Rhoads is an excellent teacher but he can cover vast quantities of information in a single lecture. The Cell Bio exams involved a lot of reasoning based on the facts, it wasn't just memorization. He expected you to be able to draw logical conclusions about what he DIDN'T tell you. Work the practice test and look up every single answer choice.

This guy knows his stuff, but I have to agree with the poster below me. His tests are way too hard and most of his questions are like solving a riddle. I did fine in the class but only out of sheer luck. I hope he changes his attitude/test question types so future students don't have to go through what I did.

here's the deal. you can be tricky and still teach well. this guy is so tricky that knowing the information is NOT enough. it's like solving a puzzle and his multiple choice questions sometimes give you choices all the way up to "L". so, with that said, i probably won't take much from this class when it comes to his teaching.

Throws out alot of information with not much organization. Contradicts what he says in previous lectures with his later lectures. Information that he teaches doesn't seem to stay consistent. Hard tests and tricky. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM AT ALL!

I thought he was a very good teacher. He had slides that you could print out and bring to class to help take notes on. All his tests came from the notes and you really didn't have to read the book. He was a very enthuastic teacher!

I had a University excuse for an event and notified him as soon as I got the letter, about a week before a test. He would not let me take a makeup exam because I didn't notify him in the first week of the semester which was NOT what his syllabus said. Quite a jerk about the whole ordeal, really. Rather boring guy as well...

Is a BIG Dork. Engaging lecturer and very involved in the material. He does dumb down the lectures a bit which is fine by me since it is a survey class. The practice exams are a great help, they show the style of his questions and help point you to the material you need to know.

The man's tests are crazy - A-J, the last half of which are combos of A&B, or D&E, etc. ... but if you can get an A in his class, you will know the stuff. He's also really entertaining and full of energy.
