He lectures are super amazing! He's really funny and knowledgeable, and he cares about his students. Be prepared to listen to some interesting stories and watch physics related music videos on Fridays. And for the course part, GO TO TUTORIALS! They help you understand the materials and are really fun to do anyways.

Douglas was one of the worst profs I have ever had. He did not take advantage of class time and we barely ever went through practice problems in class. He showed us youtube videos almost every friday class and made it a useless 9am friday lecture. Try to get another prof.

Douglas makes it very clear that you are teaching yourself and that you must memorize solutions in order to do well from day 1. Lectures are for asking questions. If you do well with flipped classes, you'll do well. End of term poster project, he recommends you wait until year 3+ to take. Can take in year 2 if you're willing to put in a lot of work

He did not really clear about the contents and just read through the power points. There is many underline understanding thing on the concept. He did not explain wells enough.I did my learning most part on my own. Feeling like wasting time to go to the lecture.

In first year, I did not do overly well in my physics courses, which was sometimes discouraging as I love the subject. However, PHYS 200 with Scott inspired me to do well, and truly made me feel like I could achieve great things in Physics and Astronomy. Super funny, inspirational, and extremely fair testing! Great job Scott, best PHYS prof!!

The Absolute greatest professor. Made it so interesting (even though the course was already super interesting). The most fair exams I've ever written. Scott made it absolutely clear what we were expected to learn and did an amazing job explaining just about everything. He also gave us lots of cool extra information that wasn't tested.

Scott is a terrible prof. You won't learn anything from his classes. Entire course was self taught from the book. Honestly thought he was a fraud for the first few weeks because he never talks about the material.

AVOID THIS PROF. He teaches at a grad school level, and can't explain clearly. He would spend 10 mins rambling on about useless stuff, and his lectures were pretty useless. Good luck relying on the book, it's fairly dense and awful. He's amusing and sarcastic, but he's disorganized, has no clear notes, and most of his lectures are a waste of time.

I get pretty lost in Douglas' lectures in terms of the material. He's not very clear and goes too fast. However, he can be extremely entertaining when he tries and shares a lot of funny things with us in class, physics related or not.

Douglas is a great guy. However, he doesn't teach effectively; that is, he doesn't really see that his explanations need to be dumbed down more for his students. I gave him high ratings for everything because he is infact easy, he is very helpful andclear if you see him in person, and i'm always interested because he's funny without even trying

Lectures were not helpful; you had to learn the material from the textbook yourself. Still, he had a great sense of humour and classes were generally entertaining. Also he basically told us what would be on the exams.

his classes are extremely boring. the labs and assignments take a lot of work to do but its possible to do good if u ask the TAs for help or form study groups. although his tests aren't easy, its possible to get a good mark if u do well on assignments since labs and assigmnets are worth 50%

Very nice guy and witty if you listen carefully to his jokes. The assignments require some thinking but are possible if you follow in class. Notes are not very good and he likes to turn off the likes causing me to fall asleep. Overall still very interesting but take ASTR101 first or you'll be lost. Midterm/final much easier than assignments.

man this guy is boring BIG TIME. Let's just say if you drink two red bulls, and 5 cups of coffee and come to class with a knife stuck in your arm his wild discussions about luminosity and proportionality will take you out (if the kife doesn't). His teaching methode is really sketchy. but he is a nice guy i'll give him that.

Assignments are 3 times harder than tests. Although the lectures were ok, they didn't exactly help on the assignments. Labs were boring, but can't blame that on him.
