Not the most interesting class, be sure to keep up with the readings and assignments and take lots of detailed notes and you'll be fine. The tests can be pretty difficult but if you study a bit it's not so bad. There is an attendance policy and presentation at the end of the semester.

she is extremely nice and helpful, the class is pretty easy, easy to get points, lots of extra credit. she gives a group project worth 40% of your grade. other than that her midterm and final is kinda hard (fill in the blank, short answer with no word bank)but if you study the notes carefully you'll be fine.

She's a really nice lady but not a very good teacher. The class feels more like a high school class. Journals are easy, the only assignments other than tests but you have to agree with her or you'll get a bad grade. Tests are near impossible, not multiple choice. On anything she said during class, not necessarily wrote down. Not recommended.

Professor Asbury is by far the best English teacher I have ever had. I was nervous about this class, but the reading assignments are interesting and short. There are short weekly assignments that are easy to ace. She requires a midterm (free response), final, and group project. The only way you will struggle is if you skip several classes. Take her

The class itself is not based on American Lit, but APPALACHIA lit. I understand she's from the area, but just teaching about YOUR hometown and trying to apply it to everyone is ridiculous. We had to write a research paper that she called "MLA" format but it was really "ASBURY" format. Take her if you are good as kissing butt, but not for Amer. Lit.

Mrs. Asbury is an awesome prof. Do all assignments (do more than expected on writing assignments) and you'll be fine. She loves to be visited in her office. She clearly explains everything. Tests are difficult so pay extreme attention to all reading assignments and the few notes in class. After taking her class, I became and English Major.

She's a little odd, but very nice. Some of her opinions are different, but overall the class is pretty easy. A lot of reading and writing journals. The tests can get a little difficult but there are only two. Bad thing is, those are your only grades other than the journals, so do the journals!!
