Hes very passionate about music but he expects everyone to be as passionate about it. its good for music majors but if your not a music major and are just taking it cause you like singing he's a little intense. he want choir to be your number one priority and for us non-music majors it isn't and that makes him livid.

He's arrogant, and loves to torment the vocalists. Very good at holding things over one's head, and will be passive-aggressive and knock your grade down unfairly rather than speaking with you.

Voice majors generally loathe him.Instrumentalists/non-majors don't tend to have problems with him, but they don't have to deal with him as much.Most of the repertoire is non-classical, and pretty bogus.Inconsistent teaching; Gets mad when we don't learn the music, but no definite consequences.Some people in the group end up singing unhealthily.

Dr A is a piece of work. If he likes you, you're fine.... if not, you pay for it in blood. I found him to be an excellent conductor, but a less than sufficient person. If you go head to head with him, he will more than likely back down. Stand your ground.
