This class is okay. It's not that difficult if you come to class, take notes, and pay attention. The only thing that is really annoying is that he doesn't post his powerpoints and expects students to google topics and come to office hours if they don't understand things. Just go to class and you will be fine. The information is basic.

Comment:

Evenson is an awesome guy. Not an easy class but manageable if you study hard. No other homework which is good and bad. It makes it a very hard class to get an A in but it gives you more time for other classes. He has this awesome dry sense of humor too. He will try to convert you to his geology cult to gain a higher place in geology heaven!

Ed is a very clear, to the point teacher. HE has been teaching for a very long time and knows what is relevant to students and how to give the best real world examples. I learned SO much in his class. Many people thought the tests were very challenging, but as long as you understand the material, you should do fine. Only HW is studying for tests.

Prof Evenson is an awesome guy. This class is hard if you sleep the whole time or don't show up, but if you actually pay attention and use the textbook, you'll find it really interesting. Tests are do-able if you study hard, don't let the first one get you or it will pull your entire grade down.

The worst professor I have had at Lehigh thus far. He is very cocky and believes he's an amazing teacher when in reality he is not. You will have to memorize everything he says. This class requires a photographic memory. You will not do well without one. He is also very boring.

Pretty cool guy, class is interesting and he is funny. but he grades very unfairly and harsh. His test are super detailed and unfair. NEVER EVER take a makeup exam he grades them twice as hard but tells everyone he grades them the same. NOT an easy A class

Ed is an interesting guy and the lectures aren't boring to attend. That being said, the course objectives are unclear; he has no coursesite set up for students; he forces you to buy a book of his notes for hundreds of dollars, notes that could be posted online; and he is rather hard to get a meeting with. The test grading is also very inconsistent.

This guy is the man. Makes the most boring subject bearable and interesting and cracks a lot of jokes that get the whole class laughing. Tests are really hard and if you miss a class you're pretty much screwed. A lot of people end up dropping so it messes up the curve

He is a really cool guy but as a professor, he should change the way his tests are set up. You have to know a ridiculous and unfair amount of things to memorize and it sucks if you do not have a photographic memory. I wish his tests were more straight forward because you can do 48 hours of studying just to get 6 things on the test

Ed Evenson is literally the worst professor I've ever had. His tests are ridiculously detailed and he expects an unfair amount of memorization and understanding for an into level class. Lectures are insanely boring, but you have to write down literally every single thing he says because he WILL put it on the test. Do not take this class.

Ice age earth class was super easy and he makes a subject that seems boring super interesting. He is funny and down to earth. you HAVE to attend class or you will be kicked out of the class because you have a quiz every day. The quizzes are super easy though and if you do well on them you will get an A

Best teacher I had at lehigh. All around great guy - very funny and interesting. Easy to do well if you go to class and cram for a few hours the day before test. Very FAIR. Explains all material and tells you what is on the test. Gives clear and interesting lectures. Makes the topic exciting and relevant for everyone. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Dr. Evenson is a very fair teacher. Don't take this class if you're expecting an easy A. Many people do badly on the tests, most likely because they aren't well-prepared for them. Basically, regurgitate his diagrams on the tests and explain them WELL, and you'll do fine in the class.

Tough Love professor. If you pay close attention and take notes until your wrist hurts you'll be fine, if not well than expect to be obliterated on the tests. Oh and I actually counted how many times he said**** in one class, it was 21, interpret as you will.

Never met a teacher who cared less for his students. Makes you buy his own copy of the book from the bookstore which contains his notes, so in turn he makes you pay for the notes in class. $100 for notes!I could not afford the book, emailed him and he never responded. WHAT A JERK!

Comment:

Let me say that "rocks for jocks" isn't as easy as it sounds. You must attend every class and be attentive and jot down everything you say! You must read the book and rehearse every diagram! You must also be thorough with your diagrams on the tests, and I would recommend studying 3-4 days before the test. That's how I did well in the class.
