It's a hard class. You HAVE to study. However, this class is extremely helpful. He comes off boring, but everything he does will help in the long run. Go to class!

Class is extremely difficult, but it is a weed-out course. You will learn a lot of you are going into journalism or pr. I do not recommend this class if you are not. Mr. Williams is very clear on the things you should do to prepare for the tests and they work. Take the class seriously and study hard or you will not pass.

Here's a teacher on a total power trip! He makes you do completely unneccesary things apparantly just so he can feel important. He claims "that's how the real world works," but i'm in the real world now and no one here is as difficult as he was.

Tough teacher, but if you're going into journalism, this is pretty much a weed-out course. I feel sorry for non-journalism majors who have to take this class. That being said, I did learn a lot of things that I still remember/use, even though I've long since left journalism. Must make an 82 or higher on every test to pass. Take it seriously.

He's a good teacher. I've never taken a journalism class before and really had no interest in it until I took this class. You absolutely have to study, but if you pass all the tests the first time you're done by early Nov. Williams is helpful. Yes, he reads from the book, but that's EXACTLY what the test is over, so there's a point to it.

I loved Newswriting with Mr. Williams! He's very helpful and he really wants his students to do well. You need to pay attention in class if you're going to get any better, and the class is not a blow-off. You take a lot of quizzes and write a lot of articles, but you learn a lot about journalism.

As far as a teacher goes, Williams is OK. He mostly just reads out of the book which any teacher could do. He is also a journalism adviser, and he is extremely unhelpful and rude. It is his way or the highway. Just go above him to Dr. Carvalho, and he will take your side against Williams b/c he knows he is ridiculous. He is simply an arrogant jerk.

This is a tough class, an 82 a F. Williams is as strict as they come, but he'll teach you everything you need to know. I found that after you get through this class, he's not a bad guy. He'll help you with your internships etc. Don't take this class lightly or you'll be taking it again. One girl in my class was taking it for the fourth time.

I wouldn't want to know him personally, or for that matter have any contact with the man outside of class. But he knows what he's talking about. Take him, but go to class and study.

This class is the devil, but not Williams. He makes this class very interesting and worth while. I felt prepared for the tests and knew what I needed to study. I would definetly recommend trying to get Williams for this course; he has taught for years and really knows how to teach it.

Study hard the first time aorund, because if you wait until the second chance to retake tests... well, you will stress out. He is very helpful. Go to him before class, after class, and esp. during the tests for help. Lots of memorization. Study hard and u will pass. Pay close attention to what he writes on board; it will be on the test. "Omit..."

GET TO CLASS ON TIME. I'm not kidding. He teaches discipline this way, and it will help you in the business world. All Mr. Williams' rules have a purpose, and he is really a nice guy. If you don't take the class seriously, you will fail. This class is *essential* for learning journalism. For J majors, this is the most important class at Auburn!

Hands down the WORST teacher I have ever had at Auburn or anywhere for that matter! He is terribly sarcastic and not understanding about anything at all. Hope you understand the material! TAKE SHEPPARD if at all possible!
