This class is graded off of three exams, BUT he curves every exam AND curves the class. You absolutely must read every chapter and article he assigns because anything from them can be on the exams. Go to class too because he will occasionally give out test answers when there is low attendance. Very generous with partial credit. Overall good.

Crenshaw is one of my favorite profs I have ever had. His class was informative and just the right amount of challenging. However, his tests are difficult. Dont expect to do well at all if you dont study. Also, he will check that you did the readings. There are always questions on his tests about them

If you read and attend the review sessions it is very easy. I watched many people struggle in his class but take good notes and it will be easy.

I really enjoyed taking this class with Professor Crenshaw. He is extremely knowledgable about the topic of terrorism. Three tests determine your grade, which require a lot of studying, but if you go to class and do the readings, then they should be pretty fair. If you are looking for an interesting class relevant to today's world, this is the one.

3 tests determine your grade. Tests are typically 2 essays, accompanied by fill in the blanks and short answer questions. No word banks are given, and you have an hour. While he believes he is fair, most would disagree. The questions are straight forward by require you to remember a months worth of lectures and readings.

VERY knowledgeable about the study and history of terrorism. Tests are somewhat fair, but you have to really work for an A. LOTS of textbook and online readings that he WILL put on the exams. Only 2 midterms and a final. Great instructor though. I thought his crude sense of humor was hilarious but it might be offensive to a number of people.

Good professor, fair grader. Has randomly pre-assigned attendance days to ensure people come to class. Tests are tough but very fair. There is a paper due the last day of class 12-15 pages which, while difficult, really shows what you know and what you have learned in the class. Only a mid-term, and a final based on lecture, readings, and videos.

He has a great sense of humor in some aspects, but at times, I thought he went a little too far. However, I don't think he meant any harm with those particular jokes.

I thought he was a great instructor, although I wouldn't advice poor students to take his courses (he sets a high bar). The lectures were clear, and the tests completely fair. Two thumbs up!!

This class is ridiculous!! Do not take it, he is the only teacher that doesn't use Carmen, so nothing is posted online, you are screwed for notes if you miss a class. Also, when reading off his lengthy slides, its impossible to keep up (note taking) let alone absorb what he is saying. This class was frustrating to say the least!

Crenshaw is very knowledgeable about the topic (terrorism) and the classes are usually interesting and engaging. he uses a lot of video/documentary, so it's not just him babbling for three hours. A lot of students were complaining about the exam, but I went to all the classes and I got a B+ EASILY. Go to class and take notes... It's easy.

I think he gives great seminar. Fair, but willing to give enough guidance so that you don't get lost in the material. Really enthusiastic about theory, which I appreciated!

Lectures were interesting and tests were fair, but paper assignments did not teach me anything. Little direction was given and papers were graded based on achieving his desired order and information. In a 2nd writing class, zero attention was focused on actual writing. Peer grading helped only if you were lucky to get in a good group.

I don't know what these other people are talking about. He made the course interesting, and his grading was fair (yes, tough, but fair). I learned alot, and I hope to take another course from him in the future...don't listen to whiners.

He's a decent enough guy and presents the class material well, but his grading system needs a total overhaul. Just because a student doesn't cover the precise topics in the precise order that he expects (neither of which he tells us), doesn't mean the paper should recieve a horrible grade. To be fair, he does pad the final grade with busy work.

What are these people smoking? He gave us a third of the exam during review, and told us yesterday that more than half the class made an A or B on the exam! Good class so far...not easy, but interesting.

The class lectures and content are interesting and easy to follow, but the papers and exams are difficult. Prof expects EXACT replication of his own views and opinions on articles and does not give any idea of what to study for the exam. Also, will not even entertain the idea of re-grading anything; somewhat pompous and rude about this issue.

Unclear in paper assignments, peer reviews are worthless because no one knows what's going on.
