Dr. Arnold is very competent and experienced at music education administration. He's been in almost every administrative position you could think of, and he has tremendous wisdom and advice in all music ed-related topics. He doesn't run classes too rigorously, but he's always concerned with helping students understand and learn educational methods.

Showed favoritism. Very old fashioned and can be senile. He is stubborn and tends to have temper. GCC Music Department has gone down hill greatly. Many holes in the curriculum. Stay away.

Doc is a tremendous administrator and business man. He is most definitely the best head of the department this college will ever have. Doc is very educationally oriented and people tend to forget this when they evaluate him. He is not a great musician but that quite frankly is not his strength area. He is amazing at what he does.

He's not a musician, he gets Eric Lassick to drive down to do band camp FOR him. He was late for my woodwinds methods class several times. I skipped 6 classes and he yelled at me but didn't lower my grade... he's usually very cranky. He's my advisor this semester but can't seem to answer even the simplest of my questions.

Quite possibly the most unprofessional, inept man I have ever met. He ran his program with his wife as his secretary. It was a mom and pop shop gone horribly wrong. He showed favoritism and only helped people he liked. Stay away from the Grove City music program if only to avoid this man

Dr. Arnold is a nice man, but he really seems as though he could care less about the quality of the marching band. He is way too laid back and unprofessional for a college band director. I feel like going from high school band to college band was a huge let-down because of his sloppiness.

Doc is a wonderful people person. He knows how to get things done. However, as an educator, he is lacking in some ways. I do not feel that the methods programs have sufficiently prepared me to teach about the instruments to the degree they should have.
