Dr. Shevlin is a wonderful person, nice & caring. You can tell she is extremely passionate about her job. However, the textbook is a must by- she gives readings due every time you have class & she'll go over them in class & randomly select people to participate. She only gives about 4/5 papers & one is a group project. Need to put in work tho for A

Comment:

Eleanor Shevlin is by far one of my favorite teachers. Not only is she good at what she does, but she's one of those teachers that is passionate about their lectures. Although there are only a few assignments, they are easy A's if you put time and effort in.

Dr. Shevlin is interesting. She does talk a lot, and tends to go on tangents. She is tough about grading papers, though, so be sure to try your hardest when writing for her class. I think she's fine as long as you attend class and do the readings/papers.

Dr. Shevlin is very caring and means well. However, she is all over the place and her instructions more often than not will confuse the whole class. She is a really tough grader and expects perfection. But if you do need help and ask her for it she will talk to you about whatever you need for a long time and give you her two sense.

Dr. Shevlin is a little all around the place, but she is so understanding. She takes time to help her students, & she really cares about them. If u are a good student, she will work with you to find a date that is convenient for you to submit ur papers. I went to her hours a few times & she asked me how my other classes were, who else does that?

4 papers for the semester. really boring class but Dr. Shevlin is the sweetest most helpful prof ever!! She goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is up to speed. She is a semi tough grader but she gives good feed back and lets you revise if you want to. Readings assigned every class but you can get by without reading them.

Shevlin is a brilliant woman, she clearly possesses a vast variety of knowledge on many different topics. She is really helpful when it comes to feedback for papers and looking for career opportunities. She really wants to see her students succeed and is very willing to help them in anyway she can. She hates when there is little class participation

Dr. Shevlin is the kind of professor everyone wants--she's easygoing, funny, and genuinely cares IMMENSELY about her students. Shevlin is a great professor. I LOVED her class; she's so nice! Gives really in-depth critiques when grading, and the class is discussion-based (not just lectures). Class is difficult but fun. The textbook is boring theories, but the novels/memoirs were entertaining. 3 major papers (5-7 pages), 2 shorter papers (2 pages), and 1 exam (the final).

Dr. Shevlin is by far the best professor on campus. If you are afraid of being challenged a little, then I would advice you to skip taking her classes.
