Told a student in my class, "This is an A paper but I'm not going to give you a A because this is EN12 and you're supposed to struggle. She tries to change your style of writing, sentence for sentence to her style of writing, does not grade for content

One of the worst professors. Do not take this class. Even though it is easy you will want to skip. So boring, pushes discussion, worse than a high school english class. Large amount of useless reading. Hard grader.

Loves discussion but oftentimes uses big terms that nobody else understands. Take a lot of notes and basically write down everything that she says even if you don't get it--the midterm and final are heavy-material and you'll be lucky you had those notes. Participate even if you don't understand, attend class, and read! Not fun, but not bad.

Quite possibly the most unenjoyable experience in a class I've had at Fairfield U. to date. Unbelievably insecure and seems to be afraid to teach. Silence bothers her so she pushes discussion. She hovers like a high school teacher. Assignments are obnoxious and she is a hard grader.

Dr. Petrino was a GREAT professor to have right out of high school. She is very accessible and willing to help. If you are prepared for class and participate, her class is very enjoyable and rewarding. PARTICIPATE PARTICIPATE PARTICIPATE. She is very clear and is very interested in getting the whole class involved & encourages class discussion.

Dr. Petrino was the Director of my Masters' thesis. I now have a PhD and can't begin to explain how much I use what I learned from her to teach in my own classes. Easy is just that; difficult is a challenge because you will learn. Thanks Dr. P

Desperate for class participation, if no one is talking then she will put you in groups...extremely paranoid, doesn't waste any time, she's like a high school teacher - doesn't want people getting up in the middle of class...gives assingments that aren't on the syllabus
