The only Prof that kept my interest enough for me to come to every class. Honestly this women is brilliant but what stands out most is her spirit. Never a dull moment in lectures. Obviously she is very demanding and does not post notes but go to the lectures and you will do fine.

Very nice lady and super witty, if you have a passion for philosophy I don't doubt you'll have an amazing time. The concepts are extremely difficult to understand. Don't recommend if you don't have a passion for philosophy or looking for an easy A.

At the beginning , you may really not like her. Doesn't use power points and uses old teaching techniques i.e. overhead. But, when it comes to marking, she's great. you could go into a test feeling like you'll fail and come out with a B! All quizzes are open book, essay str8 forward. Super funny in a weird way. MAKE SURE U READ EVERYTHING IN READER

Best professor ever! To succeed you need to go to class and listen carefully to everything she says. She posts no notes online. But on the bright side, you'll actually want to go to class. She adds so much life to every lecture. Not just your typical boring philosophy lecture. She's such an amazing and inspirational person.

She is my favourite prof I have had yet. She really knows what she is talking about and I find it a pleasure just to attend her lectures to hear what she has to say. There are not that many assignments and she will give extensions if the whole class agrees. She is extremely helpful and a pleasure to talk to, best prof at ryerson!

Please, please, please do not take this class. I beg you! This professor is beyond boring. She teaches like we're a Phd class and we know what microeconomics is. Class feels like it's 3 hours long.

Betty was one of my favourite professors. She was an exceptionally easy marker, the midterm was open book and the final exam was a take home. I got a great mark in her class because I attended lectures, which is pretty much required as notes you take in lectures are important for the essay and exam! I would most definitely take her class again.

Betty is an old school teacher & what all professors should be. A true desire to impart knowledge - no matter the cost or faculty PC matters. She cares about what you learn from her & will make time to clarify anything you have questions about. Forget the world of 'letter grades'. Go to learn. I'm lucky to have met her before she retires.

Betty is an amazing prof. She is so energetic and spunky and even though her material can sometimes be very dry she keeps everyone engaged. Going to class is key to be successful, but by the time you leave you basically know what is on the exam, and she gives away ideas for essays as well. If you can take her class take it!

Betty is by far the best prof I've had in my first year. She cares more about students learning and thinking than simply getting a grade. Her lectures are always interesting and she is very approachable for office hours. She genuinely wants to see her students succeed. Her class was the only class I had that made me think.

Great professor. She is an older lady, but has a lot of energy, more than half the class really. makes you think about philosophy and enjoy it through food explanations and on-topic rants.

You would be a fool not to take her class. No prof has been able to spark my interest as much as she has. Her lectures are passionate, she clearly explains concepts and makes the subject matter interesting even after you've only had 5 hours of sleep. I took PHL-333 as a liberal but it became my favourite course. Don't take if you plan on slacking.

FIrstly, she does not know how to use blackboard properly. So you can't rely on blackboard if you miss her class (she will probably switch around tests). Also, the test answers were poetic rather than factual, making her grading arbitrary. Her lectures were awful cause she tried too hard to be funny and in general it was awkward.

She is one of the best professors I had in Ryerson. Makes lectures interesting, treats students with respect, does not try to confuse them with the mateiral. Tests are straight forward, no tricks, and she is very fair in marking. It would be great if there would be more professors like her in Ryerson.
