People are saying tests are sooo hard, there really not unless you don't study. If you study you have an A. Last exam is open note. Tests are worth 300 so there is room for you to get some wrong and still get a good grade. Take him before he retires!!!!

He spends 30 mins going over goldon rule paper throughout the year when its only worth 150pts. Tests are extremrly hard and he is not clear on whats going to be on the test. The word list doesnt really help. He focuses on little things and tests are worth 300 pts ...think prior to taking this class !!!

Very interesting class; Joost is enjoyable. Very liberal, but you kind of expect that in a class like this. I enjoyed his newspaper articles and the other things he used to bring in. Take good notes and know the word list. Requires two two-page essays.

He is a really nice guy & loves anthropology BUT he talks too much. He spends over 1/2 the class on 'cultural news' and then has to rush to get the notes done.we spent the practically the whole semester on the first test[3 introduction chapters]. After spring break we had 2 test[10 ch. total] to complete in 2 weeks.

Very nice guy, but he spends 3/4 of the class showing newspapers and rocks then rushes to get his notes done and usually ends up keeing you a few minutes after the class is supposed to end. His tests are easy for the most part, if you know everything on the review sheet and take notes of the random things he throws on the board.

Awesome teacher! I got a D the first semester I took his class and that's because I didn't put forth an effort. I took him again studied and got a B. Its an easy class to pass if you come regularly and take good notes. Listen to his little side stories because I swear one of them were on the test.
