I truly enjoyed this professor during the fall semester as a freshman at UTSA and sadly she is going back to writing her novels. If she decides to come back to work at UTSA you will like her. She is very thorough on what she expects and always go to her office hours she is super helpful. She understands freshman year is very stressful

She's planning on going into full-time writing now, which is unfortunate because I would love to be in another of her classes. In case she does go back to teaching, she's great. A very fair grader and so direct with expectations and directions. Rubrics are on point, and I love her 3 absence and late paper policy. She is very helpful w/ great tips

Professor Pohler is a nice lady but I don't really think she's a great teacher. She kind of seems nervous and wont make eye contact with the students and she talks super quietly. She doesn't grade hard so as long as you put in some effort you'll do fine. She is the author of some books so thats pretty cool.

She's a good teacher, but only if you know what you are doing. Pay attention to her, and you'll be fine. Follow her guides, and you'll most likely get an A. I slacked off her class and did essays last minutes and got mostly A's on my papers. Don't buy the textbook. Either split with cost with friend or find someone who will let you take pics!

Her class is easy to take. Just discuss your personal opinion of the current assignment. Also make sure to show up when there will a quiz. Everything is stated in the syllabus and will be discussedpresented that day unless she says otherwise.

Very nice prof. Easy class. She's pretty clear about what you need to do for the papers and she grades pretty easy. She rarely gives higher than a 95 on papers, which is really annoying because the class is plus minus. Attendance is mandatory but she gives 3 free absences and a week-long extension for a paper. Don't buy the Little Seagull Handbook.

She is a wonderful teacher! Her class makes you feel like your in a book club! Amazing! We have a quiz after each book but they are very easy as long as you've read the text. There are 2 papers, and the final is just all the quiz's combined. Her class brought back my passion for reading "for pleasure" and for YA novels. I would take it again!

Such a nice teacher! She gives you an outline for each paper, and if you follow that format, you'll get an A. We do about 5 papers and a group project, but she grades very easy as long as you stick to what the outline says. Due dates are very flexible, and you're allowed 3 absences. Definitely glad I took her!

She is really friendly and approachable. Her class is extremely easy if you read the six novels throughout the semester. Ours were Hunger Games, The Giver, Divergent, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, Golden Compass. One quiz over each book, two reading exams, and two short essays. Professor even missed about 8-9 classes throughout the semester.

Easiest professor I've ever taken. Loves YA Lit and is passionate about it. Quizzes come after every book and reading exams are simple if you read. I took her for a summer course and we read Lord of the Flies, Animal Farm, The Golden Compass, The Giver, Divergent and The Hunger Games, but she has taught HP Twilight and others. Easy A.

Professor Pohler really cares about her students. She is the most considerate and understanding professor I have had out of all four years I have atteneded UTSA. She drops two reading quizzes, you are able to extend one paper, and you have two reading comprehension tests. The quizzes are objective so if you read the books you will be fine.

This class is super fun! YES - A FUN CLASS! I wanted to take a lit class to have an excuse to read fiction during the semester and I'm so glad I did! Professor Pohler is incredibly sweet - like the sweet young kindergarten teacher from movies. She's awesome and the class is really easy yet informative. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

This class is super easy. All the books you probably have already read. The quizzes are from sparknotes-easy. Also there are two reading exams, and two (3-5 page) papers to write. If you're a book worm, definitely take this class. She loves HP, LOTR,ETC. Easiest class ever! Seriously,I didn't even read half of the books, and I passed the quizzes.

Seriously the easiest upper division English credit EVER. Just read the assignments, her tests come from the quizzes (which she grades and gives back to you.) She grades pretty fair and lecture is pretty free form. She's really sweet and I have a feeling the people who dislike her are the ones who fail to meet the BASIC class requirements.
