This man is the worst teacher I've ever had - someone who used his power and authority to make things difficult for any student who disagreed with him. And he calls himself an academic! I had him at Boston University, and I've despised him for 45 years.

The most brilliant professor I've had - I believe he is a large reason why several of his students have picked up Academy Awards. If you're not prepared to put everything into your writing, do not take this class.

Anyone who can get over themselves for long enough and actually pay attention to what he says, the readings and the films he shows (and not just complain about them if they were made before 1995...) will learn a lot. Nothing is handed to you, you have to go and "ponder" things like he says - and if you're not willing to do this why are you in uni?

Truly an amazing professor. He really challenges his students to perform at the top of their game. His courses changed the way I thought and wrote about film. He's a very tough professor, but also very fair. He rewards hard work with high marks.

One of the worst teachers I've ever had. He couldn't be more unhelpful. Single-handedly made me hate screenwriting. Useless comments on your scripts ("Which hand is he holding the item in?") with no understanding or assistance on structure, character, or plot. An incompetant buffoon. Avoid if you ca

This course is awful! When I signed up for this course, I thought that there would actually be class discussion about writing a feature. I couldn't have been wrong. There was no discussion! It was basically, "Go away and write a feature"

I like screenwriting. I don't like this course. I find the professor impossible to talk to. He isn't very friendly. We don't get a chance to discuss our assignments in class. Instead we watch tedious movies and he speaks for 10 min per class.

He tends to go off on tangents when he is speaking. Makes us watch lots of boring movies. The workload is enormous. Besides that he seems like a nice, decent guy.

This guy is so boring, and irrelevant. This class is rediculous and unrewarding. The workload does not reflect anything from class, and I fell my money is wasted on movies from the 50's while the professor takes off god knows where.
