Some people have a hard time with her accent, but I didn't find it difficult to understand her. She breaks everything down for you which is fantastic! I would definitely take her again!

Comment:

Florence Shu is a really nice lady, but avoid her as a professor. Her lectures are long and dry, and because English is CLEARLY not her primary language, she is incredibly hard to follow. To pass her class, simply take quizzes as she assigns them and memorize the answers. No further work is really needed, and no learning is required.

Amazing Prof, people do not realize she is teaching pretty complicated stuff in a completely foreign language. If you ever bridge the gap of ignorance, most students will find that this women is absolutely brilliant on her knowledge of life and higher level kinetic thinking. It is sad she does not receives the respect she deserves!

Worst professor ever! For all upper level classes, she asks you to do presentation from the textbook. She teaches nothing because she does know anything at all! She wants you to do all the research and write a paper so she can publish it!!!! Horrible teacher! NEVER TAKE ANY CLASS WITH HER

Very easy grader. She's hard to understand but if you read the first unit thoroughly, you'll be set. She literally repeats the text, the only way you wouldn't know what she's saying is if you literally do no work outside of class. Put in effort outside of class, you're set. Also if you talk to her after class she's easier to understand. Good luck.

Shu is a little difficult to understand, but her grading scale makes up for it. It is out of 111 points instead of the tradidtional 100 points. She goes by the philosophy of repetition. She virtually repeats every quiz. She has you do a chapter review which is more than just definitions. If you are taking this for a gen ed, that's an easy 4.0

WORST teacher I ever had! can't understand one thing she says. when she writes on the board she is all over the place. she goes off topic and talks about the most irrelevant things. she tells us that she can't understand us when we ask a question but we can't understand her AT ALL!! and if you do ask a question she will say "i choose not to answer"

If you really want to learn something, never take a class with her, caz she knows nothing, doesn't know how to teach, and will end up teaching u nothing.
