Dr. Murphy was one of the best professors I had in college and graduate school combined. He was brilliant, engaging, and humorous. He never looked down on anyone, but instilled a love for words, a love for analysis, a love for knowledge. I love him dearly to this day.

Murphy is a great teacher. His class is kind of boring but if you listen and take notes the test are easy.He takes attendence every day but if you go then he will replace your lowest test grade with an A. Only 3 tests. And nobody can fail! I had an A C D on my tests and ended up with an A in the class bc of attendance I got an A for my D test grade

He is a really good guy and takes attendance regularly. the good thing about attendance is if you are there everyday you can replace your lowest test grade with an A. His test are essay format and you have to go through and correct the errors. pretty hard!

Such a cool guy. He is very open minded and respectful of everyone's opinions. I thought i would hate this class but he made me want to take philosophy again. He almost always has a funny way of explaining things that makes it easier to understand. TAKE HIM!!

Anyone who says Dr. Murphy's class is mildly difficult needs to save their parents some money and drop out now. His class is awesome, and if you get a C in any of his lower level classes you didn't go to class at all.

Best Teacher in the Philosophy Department next to Maher. Murphy is the most layed back, easy going person and treats you as an equal.. not like an idiot who knows nothing, take every class he teaches if you need Philosophy credits

The attendance policy is lax, but it helps you in the long run if you go. You can use your notes for the tests or the book, which is extremely helpful if you went to class. He quotes himeself in the tests! He knows what he is talking about and enjoys getting the class to think.

This is one of the coolest classes I have taken. The material is actually interesting and gets you thinking. His attendance and test policy is great. He really understands that his class is not the only one his students have and he is VERY helpful with questions and problems. I reccomend this class to everyone!

NO ATTENDANCE POLICY! I don't know what to say about this man, 'cause I only went to class 4 times! First day for the sylabus, then once for the 3 tests, and I got a 'C' in the class. Works for me, 'cause I didn't want to take this class in the first place!
