Very standard course. Standardly average good professor. Treat this like a math course, because it basically is. Go to all the lectures. Copy all that he writes on the board. Assignments are easy and have little to do with the material. Midterm and exam are really hard. Study all the notes and be able to reproduce them and you'll do fine.

A fairly straightforward approach to teaching, and he covers the material well. Tends to get bogged down and his point gets lost when focusing on code and algorithms. Go to class and you'll do fine. He's not a teacher who will make you pass if you don't understand, but he's not a detriment to the course either. A solidly average teacher.

Nice guy. It can be easy to think that you're totally lost in class when he;s going through code, but then still do well in the tests and assignments. Definitely do all the lab assignments and you can easily get an A in the course. I did. The slides are the ones that came with the text so there's not much point copying them.

Horrible Prof. Monotonous voice: you fall asleep in class. He learned how to code at the dawn of computers and expects all coding to be done as such. Midterm used labs as questions. Final not relevant to course. Don't bother going to class, just study the book as he just reads directly out of it and shows slides (also from book). Just sleep in.

well i didnt care about java. or shall i say javar! haha, you'll see. well read the book, cause thats basically all he does. the slides...well read them after you read the chapter. the long classes are brutal, so you will fall asleep i bet! midterms are decent. final was pretty easy, doesnt take long. labs were pretty hard. labs help tons! but hard

useless class, retarded teaching style-this guy actually writes the code on the blackboard and tells you what the output will look like instead of making it easier for everybody by using the damn laptop. Labs are no less retarded. You Re-type the code from the slides instead of creating your own. Waste of time.

Poor help outside of class. His notes are ok. Expect to find the examples he gives on his sample midterms/finals on the real test - exactly. His tests are about memorizing trivial algorithms - line by line. Overall I'd say go elsewhere if you need 349a.

Well organized lectures but boring as hell. Material is awful. His miderm average was 51%. He then made the midterm out of 90 so the people who did well get better marks and makes him look better. Where people below don't get helped much at all. Not impressed. Don't bet on him helping you out.
