Dr. Lasser is one of the worst professors that I have ever had at Rider University. He grades you based on his opinion. He lets you rewrite your papers, but he doesn't help at all. Do not take this professor!

He is truly unappreciated, especially by students who are not willing to put in effort. He is an amazing writer, intelligent professor, and helpful if you seek it. Given the chance, I would take his class again because he helped to improve my writing tremendously.

I think Dr. Lasser is judged too harshly. Given a chance I would take his class again. He does expect a lot but you just have to work with him. He is open to new ideas if you let him know before hand. If you don't show that you care, you wouldn't do well. You get out of his class what you put in to it (like every other class). So give it your all!

you would like this class if you are willing to work hard enough for the grade. he is a genius in many subjects & is very informative. if you arent doing well, he will try his best to help you if you ask. it would also be helpful to go to the writing lab. many people here rate him terribly bc they didnt do well nor take the class seriously enough

Dr. Lasser is an outstanding teacher. He will drive you to become a better writer, and always recognizes student effort and hard work. He always gives you the opportunity to rewrite papers, and as long as you give a good effort and follow MLA format, you will do well. If you're serious about becoming a better writer, take Dr. Lasser's class.

Dr. Lasser is a great professor. He is challenging but never unfair. He requires about 5~8 page paper, which is not bad at all. His essay topics are quite interesting and you WILL learn a lot from the essays you write. He has a lot to offer only if you are willing to learn. I definitely recommend him!

Lasser or Dr. Fred as I called him was great, a bit hard to understand at times but I HIGHLY recommend him if you are willing to work and want a good grade ! Very old professor but has some great stories to tell and is very wise if you work with him ! Definitely give him a shot if you can take the class !

Your essays must be based on what HE believes. I got C's on all his essays. You are able to rewrite for one letter grade higher. The only good thing is that he gives you an outline of the essay so you know what to write. Somehow I managed a B+ in his class, though.

Hard grader. Cute guy in an old man kind of way. Doesnt care if you sit on your laptop or phone. About 6 essays and a speech at the end. I was getting all D's and C's then received 2 B's and pulled off a B- in the class. Wasn't horrible looking back at it but he was frustrating to get through. He likes his papers written his way. Writing Lab helps

I think Dr. Lasser is judged too harshly. He is a hard professor but if you're a good writer you wont have a problem. He's a nice guy, he tries to be funny and tries to help everyone. he's very open to students suggestions and is flexible with deadlines. He lets you write every paper over again for a grade letter higher. very nice man.

I felt that my experience in Lasser's class was that of a bad one. Yes his outlines were well- detailed but his teaching I felt that he chased many different topics in class and he was rude to me whenever I got my papers back. My suggestion to anyone who takes his class: GO TO THE WRITING LAB, or to other professors, tutors, the 1ST DAY.

Although it was hard to stay awake in his 8am class, I enjoyed it thoroughly. If you follow the outlines, there's really no way you can fail. And he knows how to have fun too.
