Absolutely amazing professor. He is so engaging and funny during his lectures. It is necessary to take your own notes and fill in the blanks in his posted notes. However, if you put in the effort you will have no problem. Dr. Shore is very willing to give extensions for good reasons and help you every step of the way. Incredibly passionate prof!

best prof at the university! his classes consist of 3 papers 20% each and 2 exams 20% each. he posts his notes online so you dont have to attend every lecture. his exams are laughably easy and the papers are graded fairly easy too. easiest A i have gotten but i loved the material and he presents it in a very digestible way.

I can't say I recommend. Prof. Shore's lectures are all over the place, and he'll often go off on long 15-20 minute tangents during lectures. Aside from that, he's often late for class, and takes 1-2 weeks to respond to an email.

Great prof! His lecture notes are terrible so you'll do better going to class taking your own. Just take notes as he tells his stories and sit through the dry bits he goes off on at times. Easiest A+ I've gotten!

Shore's notes consist of bolded headings on a Word document. To say his teaching style is engaging would be absolutely false. The man goes off on rabbit trailers during lectures and never returns or relates these to course topics! Stay away!!!

He was very clear in lectures and gave you a good heads up on what will be on the test. Sometimes it got a little dry but he tried to keep in interesting. He will repeat important things a lot so you remember it. His tests and papers are very fair and he gives good feedback

Fred Shore is an extremely passionate and knowledgeable man. He emphasizes all his lectures with stories and is one of the those people who is funny without trying to be. The mid-term and final test are all super straight forward and easy and the 3 papers are much the same. Would definitely take a class with him again

Professor Shore is a fantastic professor. He is very knowledgable and is helpful if you need extensions on certain assignments. There is a lot of information given in the course and no textbook so it was a little difficult to know what exactly what to study. If you show up to class and actively listen, you should do great!

Fred is a great prof who is really passionate about Native studies. He tends to veer off topic with personal stories but he is very interesting. The tests are based off what he says in class and there are 3 mini reports that have clear criteria.

Good professor. As long as your papers have structure, you'll receive a good mark. All his lecture notes are posted online. I probably wrote about a page of notes all year and passed with an A. Kind of tells stories to teach, which is sometimes helpful, but other times boring. He also has awesome catch phrases and sayings. Attend for these alone.
