He is such an amazing professor. Theres 2 exams and 2 essays. He also gives pop quizzes which he most times tells us in class before he gives them. I would take him again if I have to and I highly recommend him

Comment:

I love Gale so much. He had me laughing the whole time. He tells funny stories and keeps you so interested in the lecture that time flies by. He is a fair grader and the only homework you have to do is reading assignments for each class. There was two essays and a pop quiz every once in a while that were easy if you read (he drops the lowest).

Comment:

God broke the mold when he made this amazing professor. DON'T TAKE ANYONE ELSE FOR LITERATURE BUT DR. TEMPLE!!!! However, please don't take the class expecting an easy A because you will be disappointed. Despite attendance not being mandatory, it would be hard to make a decent grade if you fail to make a conservative effort to show up.

I loved Prof Temple! He was easily available both through office hours and email, was extremely encouraging, and all of his readings were all fairly interesting. Wieland was a bit dry, but since he allowed us to write our final paper on a different book if we so chose it didn't prove to be a downside. As others have said, he is a bit scatterbrained

Dr. Temple is awesome! He typically teaches literature but I was fortunate enough to be taking honors EH 101 a semester that he was teaching composition. Writing in college is so different than high school and Dr. Temple really eased us into the transition. He has an hilarious sense of humor and is very approachable and encouraging.

Comment:

Dr. Temple was an AMAZING professor! I will take him again if I ever get the chance. He was super nice, graded fairly, and gave great feedback. It was clear what he expected, and as long as you followed those guidelines, you got a good grade. I think we wrote 5 papers that were 2-3 pages long. He also cancels class a lot, which was great.

This class was so easy compared to my high school english classes. I wish I could take Prof Temple again because I really enjoyed his class. I wouldn't recommend skipping because there were some easy points for in-class assignments. He's very reasonable with grading and there were only 4 essays over the course of 15 weeks. Take this class!

Professor Temple is THE MAN. Absolutely loved his class and really enjoyed the topics he assigned to write about. He made it a point to know everyone's name in the class. He's kind of a hard grader, but if you did well in English classes in high school you should be fine! Cancels class all the time which is great. Don't miss class though!

Great professor, made lectures engaging. He gave us pop quizzes over almost every reading we were assigned. So, while attendance was not mandatory, you will lose a lot of points if you don't come just from the pop quizzes. Take advantage of sending him your paper for feedback before you turn it in as well, he is there to help!

There was a new reading assignment to be done before each class. To make sure the class had done the reading, quizzes and in-class writings were given out frequently. Also, test grades included a midterm paper & exam and final paper & exam. Classes were very insightful and interesting due to Dr. Temple's passion for teaching.

Mr. Temple has the best intentions but he is really all over the place. There are no clear cut standards in his class which makes writing papers for him very difficult at times. He is very helpful though and is always asking us to email him with questions, so utilize his help. Overall , his teaching style is very chill and he is a fair grader.

Temple is a down to earth English teacher. I would recommend taking him. Although he said my classes' essays were much better than average, I had a stress-free semester in this class and also learned some helpful tips that will help me in the future.

Helpful professor but tends to go off on random tangents that take up most of the class time. He's funny but sometimes likes to shove his political views down the class' throat making his class feel like a democratic rally which doesn't help with essay writing. Overall he's a good help though if you ask!

Comment:

Temple is a pretty quirky guy, but at least he makes class interesting. He assigns a LOT of reading, but it's all pretty interesting and your hard work pays off on the tests (2) and papers (2). He made the instructions for tests and papers very clear and the main ideas he wanted you to get from the texts very clear. Don't fall asleep in his class.

Dr. Temple is a very nice person, and his lectures tend to go off on funny tangents. His lectures are interesting, but there isn't much class discussion (mostly due to the class, not him). When it comes to essays, he likes for you to explore idea and topics he discusses in class, it is best to stick to those. Heavy reading load!

Dr. Temple is an insightful scholar and wonderful teacher. He is passionate about his work, and this is displayed through his in-class discussions. He's a genuinely nice guy and extremely honest and down to earth. If you respect/enjoy having kind teachers, take Dr. Temple.

Pros: 1.) The literature the he presents truly challenges you to think outside of the box. 2.)He constantly asks the class for their views on the material. 3.) Responds quickly to email Cons: 1.) Temple is a great teacher and person. He gives wonderful feedback on your papers, and provides insightful comments to better your writing. The only downside to this class was all of the readings: Four books and things he posted online for every class. It was easy, but if you're interested in not reading then don't take him.

Excellent course.Great class discussions/lectures with lots of focus on connections outside the text (social, economic,etc).Heavy reading load, but engaging texts & supplemental media. Overall,great learning experience & highly recommend Dr. Temple.Fair grader. Like all good classes, reading & studying are required. Watch out for the pop quizzes!
