Dr. Milliken is a great guy, but his tests are extremely difficult. He gives you a study guide for the test that counts as homework points, but you have to study every question in extreme detail to even consider getting a test question correct. Be prepared to study pages worth of notes.

Very very very difficult professor. Tests are based off of discussion questions that you have to answer and hand in for homework right before taking the exam. Some questions are essays and worth 20+ points, some are worth 3. Very time consuming and impossible to memorize all of them. Unable to prioritize which questions you think he is going to ask

Dr. Milliken is awesome! He so passionate about this class and he makes it interesting. The only downfall is that you really have to study. There's 3 tests and the final is worth 40% of your finals grade. But he gives you discussion questions for each test that you do for a grade and he pulls his test questions from the discussion questions.

So Milliken is a great guy and all and his lectures are entertaining but the tests are impossible. You have to be able to memorize pages on pages of essay question answers before each test. I thought that having the test questions would guarantee a good grade but I was very wrong. Take a different class as this one is extremely hard.

Dr. Milliken is a great professor. His tests are literally copy and paste questions from objective lists. As long as you complete the objectives, you will do fine! He offers a ton of extra credit and never fails to provide a super entertaining lecture.

this class has an inordinate amount of work, even for an online class. The tests are lengthy essays and doesn't give any feedback on them other than the grade itself, so you don't know where you went wrong.

This teacher is my absolute favorite at cofc. I've had two classes with him now, and he is really good at his job-- but you have to like neuroscience to do well, because it's kind of his thing. Milliken cares about his students and has a system that requires a lot of work, but it ends up actually forcing you to study and do well.

He is an entertaining professor and loves what he teaches. But, his class is incredibly hard. The objectives were 15 pages of handwritten answers and the tests are based off of them, but it is impossible to memorize every little detail. I would study 10+ hours for every test and never made above a C. I did well on the final but studied 30hrs total.

Dr. Milliken is great and really knows what he is talking about. He's also really funny! It makes the lectures more interesting considering the material is pretty difficult. Very organized and straightforward which made things easier. Im taking again for another class next semester. I recommend taking him!! Surprised he has any bad reviews at all

This guy rocks. He makes class fun which makes you pay attention. Takes attendance sometimes but you should definitely go to all classes, that's how you'll get a good grade. He's extremely organized and straightforward. Test questions are given to you before hand, papers are 2-3 page research article reviews. This class is easy if you do the work.

I dreaded going to this class. For the tests, you had to turn in pages and pages of essay questions in order to take the test, only to have to basically regurgitate these in the exam. If you have a lot of time to write page long essays and are able to memorize them word for word, take him, if not, steer clear!

I currently have Dr. Milliken and he's the man. Neuro can be pretty dry, but his humor and personality make the lectures entertaining. Your grade is mostly comprised of tests, which are not that hard if you do the study guides and study from them. Going to class is definitely helpful because he teaches in a way that will help you recall things.

Took for sensation and perception Milliken is super into what he's teaching. This makes the class fun and exciting. He gives all the possible test questions ahead of time, and makes doing them a homework assignment. This is awesome and helps you learn and remember more information. While you can skip class, I wouldn't suggest it! AWESOME professor

I never pay attention in class and I always payed attention in this class. As long as you do the list of objective questions before the test you shouldn't have a problem on the tests because the exam questions come from that list. Best psychology class with the best professor. TAKE HIM!

Everything you need to know is on the powerpoints. Used the book once. Gives you a list of essay questions to turn before the test and the test questions are pulled from that list. If you do the list you're golden for the test. Great guy very understanding. Not my favorite class but by far the best professor I've ever had

Must admit..worst class I've taken at the college. He does give you the objective questions to know but he is very unclear about what he wants. He makes the material so much more difficult than needed. I'm a psych major and this is the worst class I've taken thus far.

Awesome professor and extremely hilarious. Felt like I was listening to a comedian speak. Sensation and perception material is not easy and this class was difficult. 30-40 objective questions to handwrite prior to each test and you must memorize each one to do good.

Dr. Milliken is one of the best teachers I have had! His test come straight from his notes, I barely used the text book! He gives you objective questions which are the test questions (randomly pulled from the objective questions)! There is no reason not to get an A! Take this class! Very funny guy! You will never be bored!

Best Psych Teacher I've ever had! You WILL NOT BE BORED. Milliken is extremely passionate about teaching and knows all of his students. You should do well if you complete the study guide he makes for every test. The test ?'s are exactly the same as the study guide. Had Sensation/Perception & Hist/Systems. BEST TEACHER EVER!

Comparative Psychology was the worst class I've ever taken. The subject matter was so interesting, but the test set up ruined it. Essay tests. Gives you about 44 essay questions before you start the section, you are to prepare for all of them and turn in a handwritten outline on test day. he picks like a few random ones. 33 midterm grade -WITHDREW.
