I took her class online over the summer. It was pretty easy, you just have to stay on top of the amount of work given, which can seem like a lot for some. If you do that, you're bound to get an A. She was pretty accessible via email, as well.

Took the course over the summer. I must admit, it was quite hard in the beginning, but you should get the hang of it as time goes by. There is a lot of reading, but most of the readings are pretty enjoyable and relates to modern society. There are discussions and reading responses due four times a week and 4 essays overall (2 of them timed).

Comment:

She's pretty demanding and very specific with what she wants. The course overall is not hard, there were a lot of readings to do and discussions you need to participate online. 3 essays in total, her prompts and guidelines were pretty easy to follow. I'd take her again if I REALLY have to, but (honestly) there are better teachers at DVC.

This professor is extremely biased. If she doesn't like you for any reason, she will by any means find fault in your work and penalize you. I got an A easily in English 122 by a respectable professor and yet I barely passed in this class, despite putting in the hours and hard work.

I do not understand why people say she gives a lot of feedback. I sent her a draft for an essay due in 2 weeks and she said that she cannot give me anymore suggestions. What? Plus, she is a strict grader and gives you a lot of work. I mean, this is an ENGLISH class, so I do expect some help with ENGLISH and WRITING. Don't take her, if you can.

Just log in, complete discussions, papers, and exams at a very minimum. If you want a good grade it will take some effort, even if you have spoken the English language most of your life. It was one of the first languages I learned and I still struggle at times, but she will give you great feedback to assist you.

As someone who generally dislikes English courses and reading in general, I really enjoyed the class! The literary works were geared towards current events and topics I could really relate to. Yes, there is a lot of writing involved, but as long as you follow ALL of her instructions and try to be as expressive as possible, you will do very well.

You will do a lot of writing for this class. However, Prof Toloui wants you to succeed and all that writing will pay off. If you are looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you. If you aim to be a better writer and to succeed in a four year university, take this class. Subject matter is current events and interesting.

I can't tell you how much I regret taking her class in this summer. I have been a straight A student until I took her class. A lot of to write but I understood because it is a fast pace class. Don't take her unless you want a hard grader, she doesn't take your effort into consideration, instead, she expect you to be a English PHD writer.

I have never in my life passed an English class with a good grade. I have ADHD and have a difficult time. She is a great teacher, and gives really good readings. As long as you follow all of her directions and read everything she writes, and do all your assignments, you will pass. I am truly grateful for her teaching style.
