Comment:

Material is sometimes confusing the way it is presented. Slides and old VCR clips. Slides could be a lot simpler and easy to understand. George Howe is experienced in the field and has been instructing for a long time. He is a very nice man, tells a lot of relatable stories, cracks a lot of jokes. Very generous curve on the exams.

I love him! Will definitely take another. He's very interested in what he does and loves to teach. It's a great class overall. However, it would be better if it were more hands on; his classes are primarily note taking. If youre like me, and learn by 'doing,' this class might be slightly difficult/dry at times.

His classes are purely note taking, but the material is interesting if you actually want to learn about animal science. He trusts his students to study for the exams. If you study the notes, you'll do fine. He is very knowledgeable, and wants to help his students as much as he can. I would HIGHLY recommend him!

Nicest guy ever. this class was so easy and had some pretty interesting stuff. it's all note taking off overheads and he has copies in his office. Exams are based completely on the notes. I would highly recommend for a elective!

he's a sweet old man, but don't expect to learn anything serious. The textbook is a never used, the labs are mostly useless and the overhead notes are hard to read. It's not a bad class to take if you don't have something more pressing to fill in the time slot.

Boring lectures...notes are in his office. He's a nice guy but needs to stop teaching. His labs are pointless, but he will test you on things he says. The class is solely note-taking and I didn't learn anything. The tests are just based on memorization. The textbook is optional for a reason...YOU DON'T NEED IT!!!!!

To sum it up: The easiest class I've ever taken if you put in minimal effort. He doesnt require attendance, have homework, and keeps all class notes in his office (which is exactly what the tests are on)

He is definately easy, but a lot to memorize. He only uses overheads for notes, so it is hard to copy down what he writes. You can't really take in what is being taught because you are trying to translate his writing. Lab you dont have to go to and you dont need to buy the book . He's a cute old guy but get ready to memorize a lot of notes.

Great, easy professor but if you're looking to get into vet school with some anatomy knowledge, i would suggest taking the bio version. His class requires no studying and you really don't learn anything. Do yourself a favor and don't take this class if vet school is in your future

Yes, he's super easy - just be careful if you support western medicine at ALL - he's VERY against traditional medicine. He'll tell some interesting stories; just don't take him too seriously. I just took the honors colloq, and as long as you show up you'll get an A. Definitely a fun and interesting time.

One of the nicest professors I've ever had, I wish he taught all my AnSci classes! I could just listen to his stories and semi-corny jokes forever. If you can, take the Honors Colloq for the class, it's super easy and there is no work involved, he just grades you on if you went and if you bothered to get to know him.
