DO NOT TAKE TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES! This was perhaps the worst professor I have ever had at San Jose. He is very disrespectful to his students that have different opinions than his own and will let you know that your ideas/opinions are worthless. His tests are very hard for no reason other than he gets off on making students suffer

Not worth your time at all. Does not teach and you dont take any notes because you dont learn anything new. You watch movies every class. His tests are ridiculously hard and he does not give you any idea of what will be on them beforehand. AVOID THIS CLASS

I would never ever recommend this teacher. He supposed to publish his own history book according to his 35+ years experience on this field but he even has hard time to manage the book. HE HAS A LOT OF NON SENSE "JOKES" . if you are from outside USA get ready, he is going to make fun of your accent. of course, u are Not taking him so do not worry.

Awful "professor" who is condescending, rude, and hasn't published anything noteworthy in ages. Clearly still teaching because of tenure. Avoid at all costs. And, yes, I actually read and am an intelligent individual but still found him to be an obnoxious ass. Take his class if you want to be told that going to SJSU basically means nothing.

Yes he kinda likes to pick on students and he is not very pc when it comes to certain things but he is actually a very nice teacher. As long as you don't give him bs he will cut you slack when you need it. If you wanna do good in his class don't get offended easily and make sure to read and do the packets! he uses the questions for the tests!

He may appear tough, but he has one of the warmest hearts ever. Get to know him, he is very friendly. His class is full of humor :). Almost everyone passed the class- majority ended up in the 80th percentile. Do the reading, answer the wkbk ?s, and show up to class ALL the time. The ?s on quizzes and exams are the exact same ones from the wkbk.

Take this class in summer. He can get distracted, but he's a great teacher. This class is not hard if you do the work. He is very clear about his expectations: read the textbook, answer the workbook, and pay attention in class. You also watch a documentary every day. The quiz and test questions are straight out of the book; the final is difficult.

This class is not hard. The routine is to read the textbook and then answer workbook questions (usually you can Google the questions and find the answers). The quiz and exam questions are exactly the same as the workbook questions. You are expected to read 3 books to write the essay (30% of grade). Come to class prepared and get on his good side.

Dr. Vasquez took me under his wing because he knew I was a serious person. If you don't fit that bill then don't attend his courses because it will probably lower your grade point average. This instructor was horrible. He walked out of his office while I was talking to him. He spends class time sitting down telling story's that don't pertain to the course. He put a film on in Spanish and attempted to translate for 1.5 hours. Good example of bad ten-year teaching.

Great professor. Incredible sense of humor made class go quickly, even though it was almost 3 hrs. Makes you work for the grade, no free points. No notes on exams, lots of reading, short quizzes, in-class discussion daily. I enjoyed this class very much, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn something about history.
