Comment:

Easily one of my favorite profs here at ECU. Although you do some group projects and you do some readings from the textbook, he makes learning really entertaining. He's not hard as long as you're putting in effort to be active inside of class. Everything is outlined on the syllabus and the work load is light, this class was great overall.

You have 3 essays and 1 graphic essay in this class worth a combined 75%. Told us that we would have weekly reading quizzes, we had one the first week online and he never mentioned it again. Not a bad teacher at all, hilarious laugh that you cannot really describe.

One of my favorite teachers , I took him again for ethnic studies too. Probably one of the easiest teachers you can take for English your 1st year. Just do the work , he will work with you and help you as much as you can

This class is an easy A. His exams are 4 essays that you will work on in class over a period of weeks and he is very helpful during office hours. He gives a clear grading rubric for each essay and is good about giving feedback. His attendance is mandatory, he takes roll. Also, his laugh is a little obnoxious but if you can get over that, easy class

Have you ever had a teacher that gives you 3-4 assignments plus reading per week and expects you to do all that plus having 5 other classes ? Yeah ..... he's that guy. If you want someone who is going to nit pick your papers and grade based on how you align with his opinion he's definitely your guy.

Awesome professor! He's super hilarious and makes class enjoyable. Tries to relate to all his students. You will have to read four books, and one is very long. He allows you to pick your own extra credit and do as many as you like. Exams are so easy!! Only two essay questions each. Other than that, participation and quizzes are simple if you read.

Prof. Miles is a great teacher. I like that he doesn't just give feel good grades for doing something, but bases grades on the quality of your work, including discussion boards. I feel like I've learned so much about something that I thought I knew prior to taking the class.

Mr. Miles is a talented and intuitive instructor. English 3260 was a blast with him. Laid back. Quizzes are easy if you simply read the material. He is always there to provide you with support and encouragement if you need reinforcement with the course. A fun and caring person. He also owns the best laugh in the history of the world!

Mr. Miles is awesome!!! I'm in the Honors section of ENGL 1100, and he's one of my favorite professors simply because he's an easy grader (send him your essays before submitting them!), super helpful (office hours!), and even willing to bend the rules if you get on his good side :) I'll miss him a lot next semester!

He really gets into the subjects we talk about. This is the class I enjoy coming to most. All of the papers we wrote had the information in the book and he is a lenient grader at the start of the class (didn't even count off for MLA sourcing). He is really humorous and often makes himself crack up in class.

Great teacher! This guy makes the class easy and actually somewhat fun. He usually does this thing where you turn one of your papers into a comic book. He is very helpful and he will tell you what you need to do to your paper to get an A.

If you like to spend half of every single day doing work for this class, including weekends, then this class is just what you need! Who cares about spending time with friends and family when you can watch tons of video lectures, write tons of discussion board topics, and read three novels, in addition to long excerpts from other books!

very nice, very helpful. laugh is a little intense, but he will definitely keep you smiling. his papers are fun topics, and if you need help he is there in a split second. i would HIGHLY recommend him.
