Comment:

McCann is a really nice guy however I feel like he teaches the class just because he has nothing better to do. He goes off on random stories about his family and doesn't have very accurate current information on the topics. His class is easy but don't bother coming to class. Just read the textbook all the way and show up for quizzes/exams.

I really like Professor McCann. He knows the content well, and while he can get ramble off a little bit I still felt that I learned a lot. If you don't understand something, he's super approachable if you come up to him after class. His tests are fair, and super easy if you study.

Professor McCann is disorganized and seemingly uninterested in his role as an educator. His study guides are useless, tests are overly specific (he's more interested in stats then the general idea), and when questions are posed he simply tells us to look it up. I'm sorry, but I do not pay to my University to be told to look something up on Google.

Horrible professor. Going to class is useless. Textbook is dry and hard to read. Tests are knit-picky and hard. Study guides are useless. He doesn't give answers of sample tests, and when asked why, he said "Well, I don't know them. Look it up." Avoid him!

Did not like his teaching. I took Drugs&Society with him and I was better off just not to go to class. Attendance was always low, he went on WAY too many tangents, and didn't address the test material in class at all. Took this class to get out of my Soc requirement... would have done something different if I had known his teaching skills.

I completely agree with the comment below. You learn nothing from his lectures. The tests are based simply on the books. If you complete the reading assignments, you'll be fine. He also talks consistently about his adopted children. How does that relate to my class?

He is a TERRIBLE professor! I learned absolutely nothing in this class (Research methods). His teaching is unclear and boring, I could never hear what he was saying in class, and he didn't answer questions in a helpful way. Definitely do NOT recommend taking anything with Mccann. Also he did not let us submit course evaluations.

I can't believe we're talking about the same person. His class (Drugs and Society) is fascinating. He is very good at presenting an unbiased view. Answers questions, even if irrelevent. Heard he's leaving, very sad to see him go. Only complaint: won't give practice exam answers. No biggie.

I have had him teach two of my soc. classes. This time around went better. He assignes an unreasonable amount of reading and highly emphasizes what theory is by which theorist, much more than what the actual theory is! Tests are difficult!!
