VERY arrogant! EXTREMELY hard class! I am a 4.0 student and barely passing this class. He does give a lot of office hour times. Not the easiest person to talk to. Labs are not bad but only get ONE point for doing! Ridiculous! I wish another teacher taught this class. I love chem and hated this class! Expect to study hard! Study groups, good choice

Don't let the bow-tie fool you; the man knows his stuff. He's extremely interested in students LEARNING the material, rather than having them memorize it for a grade. He breaks things down for students very well. He loves when you actually talk to him about the subject; express interest and he'll love you. The guy knows me by name and I have a C+

I think that he would be a good teacher for lower level courses. He was just not good at all for this class. Very arrogant in a way. He is one of those that should be practicing the science not teaching the science. TOO smart for his own good.

He was my lab instructor for Chem 132 and I really liked him. He would always ask how I was doing and take the time to talk to the people in my lab. He was friendly and seemed to care about us. He would always help us out with any questions we had. Wish he would've taught the lecture too, instead of Dr. Tormanen.

I took this class with Dr. L and thought he was a horrible prof...I retook it at MSU and realized how lucky I was to have Dr. L! He takes the time to teach the way that he does - so you will learn! He might not be the friendliest guy, but he's there to help you learn, not be your friend. Study and you'll do fine.

The other person who wrote this semester about Dr. Lewandos doesn't know what they were talking about and probably failed the class and is just bitter. Lewandos is an amazing teacher and will break down everything into a few simple patterns. Emphasizes learning concepts rather than straight memorization. Very quirky, I'll admit. Very old school.

He is the absolutely worst teacher ive ever encountered!I am a good student except for orgo and he makes you feel so stupid. HIS ARROGANGCE INTERFERES WITH HIS TEACHING! Tests are ok as organic goes but you have to get past his attitude of superiority. Also, he yells at people for yawning in class. If possible, GET SOMEONE ELSE!

Great teacher. Always available for office hours. If you go to class, pay attention and take good notes, you'll be fine. Don't expect this to be a walk in the park, no matter your teacher, the class is tough. But I've heard Lewandos is better than the other teacher.

Pretty good professor. Straightforward with information. You need to keep up with the material because it builds on itself. He's available often and willing to help. Good professor overall!

The course requires a lot of time and you need to keep up and do the suggested problems. It's all understandable, but he moves pretty fast. Professor does have office hours almost every day, and seems willing to help any time. He's very patient, and he can explain chemistry like no other teacher I've had.

He is not a bad prof. He's always willing to help before or after class. He'll even help out study groups before the tests. The class is hard but he curves A LOT. First 3 tests are much easier than the last 3!
