The best professor I have ever had. I learned more in his class than any other college course, and I was not a history major. Go to his office hours! He is so easy to talk to and has so much insight. If you are lucky enough to take his class, really listen, really engage him in discussion.

I love McNair, he is seriously one of the best professors teaching at Kenyon today. Definitely my favorite of the history courses I've taken. I took 175 and 176 last year, and he is hard, but fair. His tests are memorization heavy and he grades mechanics harshly.. His lectures are always interesting, as are his primary source assignments.

I took three or four of prof mcnair's classes during my time at Kenyon. He is amazing! He's a great person and a great professor. He has amazing stories to tell about his careers before he became a teacher. He isn't too hard, but he expects you to do the work. He has clearly laid out guidelines, and it is not too hard to get a good grade.

Early African American History is an amazing class--highly recommended. McNair's style of teaching is what I always wanted from a college professor. Lectures are crystal clear, well organized and often come with a touch of humor. Following his lectures, he takes time for discussions which are always interesting.

Always prepared for class, interesting lectures that are easy to follow. A bit intimidating at first, but very likeable once you get to know him. Sharp dresser, sharp lecturer, sharp in all aspects of his game. I love this guy. In a heterosexual kind of way.

Superficial: Very handsome and wonderful dresser. I'm a fan of the beret. Proffesing (hehe): Very interesting. Sort of wry. More often than not assigns way too much primary source reading, but the textbook is interesting. Intimidating at first (he used to be some sort of secret agentish person) but a softie at heart and my facebook friend!

This man is so intelligent, a born professor (tho he has been in the secret service and also a lawyer...) Anyways, P&T was incredible class. If you've ever asked yourself "what is history?", then take it. He's wonderful.

his tests are straight out of High School, pure memorization, but a lot to memorize sometimes 150 names and events and dates, but memorize all that and get an easy A.
