Prof. Dabakis is a powerhouse. You'll be hard-pressed to find an art history professor with a greater range and depth of knowledge--she lectures as engagingly on 18th c American painting as on radical modern movements. Beneath a professional exterior, you'll find stores of warmth and wit for students who share her love of the field.

Took my first art history class with her to fulfill art requirement. Because of that class I decided to become an art history major. She made the material so interesting, bringing the complexity that goes into learning about history and art history into one coherent and manageable whole. No-nonsense. But a warm, bright, professional professor.

One of Kenyon's most important resources. Refreshingly smart. Gives great lectures, leads discussions into depth (away from the arbitrary comments of art history students. ) She can be quite funny, and is actually warm and understanding. Treats you like an adult and expects you to act like one. Some people shy away from her no-nonsense demeanor.

Absolutely fantastic! Knowledgable and interesting, Professor Dubakis is a great professor. Can seem a bit cold at first, but as soon as you make the effort to go to her office hours, she'll be a friend for life. She convinced me to take an art history minor when I originally had no interest! Can't wait to take another class with her!

What an amazing art history professor! One of the best at Kenyon. She is extremely clear in explaining the historical context of art work and its artistic importance. She is very clear in what she expects from her her students and is a fair grader. She is very organized, friendly, and makes art history captivating.

You better love art, because you won't love her. Routinely mispronounces seminal artistic names and locales; doesn't really care if you're interested. No discussion of theory or theme, just pure factual memorization. Snore.

Easily the worst teacher that I have ever had in my entire life. Grading seemed to be based on how much she likes you. Very stuck up, in fact, I haven't another teacher here who was so stuck up on themselves. Awful awful awful.

Dabakis is one of the few professors at Kenyon who has high standards for her students. She won't let you get by with BS and that is what sets her apart from other ARHS professors at the school. Interesting lecturer.
