ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS AT OCC!!! Took both of her semesters and completely loved it! Glynis is a real gem. She is hilarious and extremely helpful. Her class isn't a walk in the park but if you ask for help and follow her requirements you'll be solid. She gives you a lot of time in class to start essays and is always available outside of class!

An amazing instructor who forces you to get started on the major essays in class so you don't procrastinate. She's super helpful and will always give you feedback on your work if you e-mail her. The class isn't that hard if you put in the time and effort.

Always professional, polite, with good sense of humor. Taking care, passionate, reasonable about everything she talks. Not much reading, lots of open discussions. Good-structured course: only 4 big assignments, some other random not easy but valuable papers, and she kindly gives extra-time. I really started to love writing. She's the best!

Professor Hoffman is the best English teacher I have ever had. She is very helpful when working with you on essay's. The class is not easy but if you put the work in and listen to her directions, you should do fine.

She is honestly one of the best professor's I have had at OCC. She speaks her mind (which I like, she is hilarious) and makes the classroom extremely comfortable. She does not call on people unless she thinks you have something to say, lets people who have things to say speak or comment on the work as much as they want.

Glynis is my favorite English professor by far. She's always energetic and quick to respond. Always on time. Grades fairly. Treats students fairly. In this class students truly learn to analyze. We typically analyze a single story for the entirety of the class, which can become quite dull. Nevertheless, she finds a way to keep students focused.

Prof. Glynis is awesome!!! She is a bit of a tough grader but as long as you follow her requirements, you are golden! She gives a lot of time in class to do the essays and also makes her way around the room and offers her insightful opinions and advice. I would highly recommend to take her class!

Well, lets just put it this way; Glynis is simpy an amazing teacher! Being that English isn't my first language, this class most definitely kicked my ass, but I learned so much. She's super accessible outside of class, (office hours, or via email). Glynis isn't just a good teacher, but a great person. Thanks for an amazing successful semester!

Ms. Hoffman is quite hilarious as she particularly likes to keep the classes enjoyable. The basic motto for her class is that if you want a good grade, then simply do your best. She is very understanding for problems with home, but she can smell lies like the nature during spring. Overall, an excellent teacher to have for beginning English 100.

She's a really nice professor. I took both her Eng 100 and 101 classes. Although I got B in the class, I still believe that I would have gotten an A if I had tried harder. She is available for feedback. So I suggest that you should send an email to her to get feedback before turning in the assignments. And getting feedback has deadline too.

She's absolutely amazing and genuinely cares about her student. She gives amazing lectures and explains thoroughly. Hoffman makes literature extremely enjoyable and completely submerges you in a whole new literary perspective. I would recommend her to anyone who is interested.

For English 100 you have 2 essays, cuple summaries and analysis from the book 100 great essays. Her lectures are very interesting and fun because she makes you analyze little details that she clarifies later. I learned a lot in her class. I totally recommended.

Shes a good teacher, but isnt easy. Assignments are sporadic and unplanned, she changes them frequently. If u have a busy life or fam this class isnt for u. There's homework on holidays and vacations. Theres no way to do assignments prior to the holiday because she won't tell u what it is. If ur life isn't busy then u will love her class!

Loved Prof. Glynis Hoffman! She was a tough one, but only because her style is about creativity and I am not a very creative person, but I still really enjoyed her teaching &humor. Must attend classes to stay caught up. She works with you step by step on the papers that she assigns so make sure you go to class or you will miss important tips!

Glynis is an awesome professor. She really helped me accelerate my writing skills. I enjoyed all her classes, and it never felt dull. If you follow her clear directions, you will easily pass her class. I wouldn't say that she is a hard grader, but she doesn't give free A's either. I will take here again for 101. Glynis Hoffman is a real gem & EXTREMELY KIND! She is very helpful if you ask for help and feedback. The difficulty of this is class is average. I enjoyed her quirky jokes that she says during lecture. Hoffman also gives donuts to the entire class on exam days! You do alot of reading, but hey, its english 101. I would highly recommend this class.
