Comment:
Gordon obviously knows his stuff, though I found his lectures incredibly hard to follow. He tends to ramble. He expects us to "take apart" the texts provided and write responses and then grades us very harshly when we don't come to the same conclusions as him. However, his tests are very fair and it's not hard to get a good grade if you study

Great speaker though he wanders off topic quite frequently. Still he's quite enthusiastic and interactive with the class and makes the intro to HOST class much more interesting.

When you go by his office at Kings, it's this amazing little bastion of medievalness. I always look inside and kind of marvel because he looks just like some kind of middle-ages professor of crazy medieval stuff. A total Lord Asriel type. Yes, he is egotistical and overbearing and Scottish but I love it and so does everyone else. He knows stuff.

Not nearly as ****y as people claim. He was humble and worked with students to understand the texts. Very demanding, particularly when it comes to inclass contributions, but a great teacher.

Gordon was without doubt my favorite lecturer for the HOST intro course. He's incredibly intelligent, well-spoken, and utterly hilarious. He seems so interested in whatever he's lecturing about that you can't help but pay attention. He demands a lot from his students but he's very helpful in helping you reach the goals he sets for you.

Dr. Fraser and Gordon are the reasons why I am majoring in HOST. A genius who teaches and researches in some fascinating areas. The best lecturer at King's and Dalhousie, he is almost wasted on undergrads. Is much more friendly and approachable than he seems when lecturing.

Brillian man, sensational lectures, absorbing discussion. He demands a lot, but the rewards are worth it. Come prepared to work. Does it bother anyone else that to get a good grade a prof must be easy? McOuat is not easy, but if you are looking for that, hit up the community college.

Yawn. The person with the highest opinion of him is definitely himself. His pleasure comes from seeing students in distress.

His incredible-ness does not fit the ratings scale since he expects a lot from students, is only mildly approachable or helpful and I wouldn't describe the wisdom that he distributes as 'clear' in any way. But perhaps the best professor at Kings.

His pseudo-European accent makes you wonder where he comes from, until you find out he is merely pretending to be worldly. Still, lectures very well and seems nice enough.
