Very excellent professor! She gave clear clarification about the concepts during the lecture. Office hour is pretty helpful. Midterm and final are not too difficult if you read the book and the PowerPoint.

Standard introductory management class. Have to show up coz Iclicker questions. Really just do assignments and Learnsmart and you ll be fine. Definitions, definitions, definitions.

Comment:

The worst teaching system ever, an entry level class but the work load felt like an upper division class. You are forced to work on 80 questions, a quiz and a bunch of homeworks for a single chapter and there are 19 chapters total. Easy class but tons of workloads and I don't like the way she teach.

only one midterm and one final which are both purely multiple choice, otherwise there's easy quizzes that you take online. the class is easy but the only bad part is that you're required to read the entire chapter and take the quiz before the lecture (which is just an exact repeat of the textbook), but you have to show up to class for clicker qs

Best professor ever taken! Very caring, fun, and accessible. Her lectures are amazing and really interactive! Took her 129, 126, and 124 classes, all of them amazing! Lots of homework/ quizzes, but these are not hard if you do the work, go to class, and do not get behind!

Weekly quizzes and homework on Connect. 1 midterm and 1 final. Assignments on connect are fairly easy, but you will need to read the textbook. I didn't find her lectures that helpful, but you need to attend for iclicker points. Read the textbook and really study the vocab/concepts and you should do fine.

Her lecture is easy to understand, but this does not mean she is good because you have to memorize a lot of terms for the midterm and final. If you cannot do that, you are gonna fail undoubtedly. So, you do not have to go to class, you just need to memorize all terms, which means her lecture is useless. I won't take her class anymore.

I LOVE HER!! Her lectures are always great, weekly homework and online quizzes. 1 Midterm and a Final. The class is definitely not an easy A, however, if you study well, you'll end up with an A. Best professor at UCI!

I really enjoyed her class. She gives a decent amount of weekly homework but I found them very useful and relevant to learning the material. Tests are based mostly on vocab terms and are easy IF YOU STUDY -- flashcards are the best way to study for this class. Go to class to get iClicker points, even if you don't listen; she doesn't do podcasts.

easy class- just do Connect and study her lecture slides for exams she talks a lot during lecture LOL but she is very caring and knowledgeable like she knows what she is talking about. 10/10 recommended

Good intro class that covers a LOT, but compared to Eppel, she requires much more work including reading & taking online chapter quizzes BEFORE the lecture, and mandatory LearnSmart decks that are 72 questions/chapter. Only point of going to lecture are the 2-4 iClicker questions for participation, which is annoying. Tests are straightforward.

Overall easy class. A lot of assignments and work but not entirely difficult. Online chapter quizzes weekly (mult choice). No midterm -- only a final but she gives you the material that it's on. Attendance and class participation is graded. She's overall a funny lecturer and definitely knowledgeable on the material

Clear, concise, and generally empathetic to students, Professor McLaughlin is upfront about her expectations, and what will follow if you don't meet those expectations. Fortunately, MGMT1 is pretty general and basic in material, so those expectations were quite feasible to meet.

Truly enjoyed this class, Professor McLaughlin is wonderful! As long as you do all your reading, LearnSmart, and homework then you should have no difficulty with this class. Final is harder than midterm, but study and it'll be fine. Everything that is in place is to help you succeed. I recommend her and would definitely take a class with her again.

Super easy class with Mclaughlin. I didn't read the textbook or listen to lectures just did the Learnsmarts before the midterm and final and got A+ on both. You do have to go to lectures since participation is 3% of your grade but that's no issue. Just do the online homework and Learnsmarts and you will be fine. Easiest class I've taken by far.

Professor McLaughlin was great. Her lectures are awesome, and she creates a very fair and doable learning environment. She does give quite a bit of work, but her midterm and final are pretty easy and straightforward.

The prof is super organized and very clear about her expectations for the class. Her powerpoints are helpful and her tests are straightforward. She is also helpful b/c she gives a bit of background about other available business courses. Good intro class for freshmen. Con: there was no cheaper option to the expensive online textbk.

Comment:

MGMT 1 is an easy class if you do the LearnSmarts. However, her standards for an A are really unforgiving (94% and above). The lectures start right on time and go generally well (she sometimes is confused about her own lecture). The final is harder than the midterm so beware of that, any questions count when your overall score has to be above 94%.

I liked her, but I hated her T.A. The minimum for an A is a 94%. How can it be so high when the freaken T.A. gives out 92s and 91s. This class is suppose to be a joke, but it is actually hard if you're aiming for an A. I wish I took it with Sommer.
