I wouldn't recommend taking him. There are 2 test grades & a semester-long paper that are the majority of grades in the class. The tests are mostly fill in the blank/just from the book. He does not give enough clarity or direction on the paper & not much is gone over in lecture in relation to the tests. He even gave unannounced HW during finals.

Took his SOCY1000 and it is pretty easy. Tells interesting anecdotes during lectures to help understand. Tests are pretty much exactly the vocabulary and maybe one or two things we discuss in class and each test we took he ended up adding point to everyone's grade. Doesn't require much effort. You should attend class for notes though.

I really enjoyed his class! He made lectures interesting and was very fair on grades. He does not post notes, so going to class is very important because most of his test is from the notes. Other parts from book, which I would google key chapter facts online. Chapter vocab and quizzes which really help boost your grade.

I literally never went to class and I passed with B. He is super boring and his lectures make no sense. I just studied vocab and the book notes and made As and Bs on his tests. The final is non-cumulative.

I really enjoyed this class. I would recommend going to class because he tests pretty closely to the notes, which he does not post online. I find his lectures interesting and he tells a lot of stories that help understand topics. Tests are pretty easy if you study the notes from class! Chapter Quizzes and Vocal help boost your grade.

His lectures are very boring, so if you have to take his class, do not take it in the evening or you will more than likely fall asleep. The only test are the midterm and final. Majority of the grade comes from one project. You need the information from class and the book to be able to pass the test. Just be prepared for long boring lectures.

Weaver was extremely easy. If you go to class and take notes on top of the PP then there is no reason you shouldn't get an A. Has multiple choise and short answer tests. Make sure to elaborate on the short answers--you will definitely get full credit then.

Very cool guy. Actually taught the material and made you interested in it. Tests were a little tricky and always had some questions from the book. Gives a study guide and a small curve. I hope to take him again if the criminology department is still around.

I took this on web ct and it was the easiet class at AU so far! You know in advance what your assignment is and they never take more than 30 min to an hour and its one assign. per week usually. Tests are easy, same questions as homework, but they are in lab. Also, we got to take the final at home! So obviously we all aced it!

I really like him. He is the most helpful person in his dept. He'll work with you on anything, inside or outside the class. His lectures are boring sometimes, but if you study for the tests you'll do just fine. I've never made less than an A in the 2 or 3 classes i've taken with him.

Classes were a little boring, but easy to pass if you attend. If you miss a day that homework was given out, just e-mail him and he will send it to you. The best thing about Dr. Weaver isn't neccessarily his teaching, but his career advice. Talk to him
