Comment:
Klima is the absolute worst. His lectures are incredibly boring and super unclear so it's difficult to take notes. The only assignments are three exams which are 10 multiple choice questions and it's open notes so it sounds like a dream but in reality the tests are still incredibly difficult and everyone averaged around a C- on each exam.

Took him for logic and absolutely hated the class for all the reasons mentioned. But i took his class on medieval philosophy and i loved it. Medieval philosophy is his specialty so take him for this class. As long as you take good notes and read, you'll be fine. Also helps to have a friend in class to help you on tests since its open anything

Professor Klima is a very difficult teacher. He seems like a very intelligent and kind man but his tests are some of the most difficult I've had to take in college. They are open internet and open note but the questions are so cryptic and specific that the internet helps you on maybe only a few. I would not recommend his class or retake it.

Not great, but not totally awful. His tests are all open-book so listen in class, do the readings, and make sure you have good notes and you'll do well. He does ramble and go off on tangents a lot. A pretty mediocre class.

Prof. Klima is an expert in his field & really cares about the subject matter he teaches. He can be a little awkward, but he's kind & presents material in a way that is conducive to taking notes. Tests are MC only & open internet/open note & he provides summaries of the readings on his website. However, test q's are cryptic & the final50% of grade

Your grades in this class are mainly dependent on the tests he gives. You will have to read the books if you want to participate in class and better understand the class that follows the reading. However, you will not be completely lost on the exams if you don't read. He explains everything and even sends you links. Everything is open book!

He's kind of hard to understand and rambles a lot. I usually just skim through the readings he assigns, read a summary, and answer the questions that he asks (and wait for next class where he tries to explain the answers as well). His test are open-everything and you'll be fine as long as you pay attention and write down stuff he says in class.

Dr. Klima is intimidating at first, but is an incredible professor. If you do the readings and can participate in class, he will love you and be very helpful. Hardest multiple choice tests ever, even though they are open note/internet but you can retake them and get 100% easily. Don't skip because his tests cover exactly what he says in class.

He provides summaries of all the readings on his website. You can use the internet during tests. The questions are directly answered in the summaries. Ten mult. choice Qs per test. He has a hungarian accent, but you'll understand if you have ears. Attend class for good grade. Lectures are enlightening if you enjoy philosophy. Google him for pics.

Klima is a boss. The man knows his philosophy and his tests are open-internet. If you show up, pay attention, and do the readings , you're going to get an A. Very straightforward, always helpful, and humorous.

He speaks with a thick accent, so he's difficult to understand. Laptops are allowed in class and all tests are open note and open laptop, so they're easy. He'll appreciate class participation, but it's not a must. You do have to show up for class though, because he'll call you out if you skip.

Hard to understand and approach. This is the only teacher that I recommend you drop without trying. It is not worth it. His tests are based on his interpretation of the material instead of what we read, so even if you are prepared it is hard to do well.

Even if you understand the material, his tests are impossible. Philosophy simply isn't the type of subject in which multiple choice/true false tests work. Whenever he allowed a test retake with short answers or an extra credit paper, it became much easier. Until he changes his testing style, avoid.

Prof. Klima is great! I found the subject to be somewhat difficult but he answered my questions clearly in class and even in more depth over email. Participate in class, even if you are unsure of the answer--he will guide you in the right direction and will appreciate your participation in the long run!

Has an accent as well as being soft-spoken, so he's very difficult to understand. I wouldn't recommend him if you're just trying to fill a requirement. He expects a lot of students and tends to get angry or even mocking when these expectations aren't met.

Very passionate about philosophy but very boring to most of us who are just fulfilling a requirement. Tests can be difficult, so you should do the reading. He appreciates kids who speak up in class. Attendance is mandatory--he'll call you out if you don't show up without emailing him why. No papers though, just multiple choice so that's a plus.

Honestly, I don't understand how this guy has so many good comments. You have no clue what he is saying, it's painfully boring to sit in class, and his tests are impossible. My entire class was frustrated with the guy about half way through the semester. He is smart and knows what he is talking about but he just does not know how to teach it.

Klima is the personification of brillance! He writes beautifully, he's crazy-smart, and he randomly says the funniest things. I'll stop before I start sounding like a groupie but it would be well-worth your time to take a class with this man. It won't be easy but it'll def be interesting!
