Von Baeyer is pretty much my favorite. He is quite the entertaining lecturer, and is good at getting students to understand the material. The class is tough; his tests are not easy. Overall, this is a great class that I really enjoyed.

Hans gives entertaining lectures, but tells you not to meet with him if you have problems; to meet with your problem session prof first and then the tutoring by grad students. I felt lost in the class and like he didn't care about his students individually. I never met with him one on one, but heard he is very helpful if you do so.

I very much enjoyed his lectures. He was quite entertaining. The homework and test were very challenging for me. The students who had taken phyiscs before, and learned it well, had no little problem with this class. Students who did not have a strange background struggled. Use office hours. He is VERY helpful one-on-one.

Probably fine for someone who actually took physics before. Entertaining, but sometimes forgets to really cover basics. Tests get harder and more annoying, and grading tends to be nit-picky. Came out of it hating him and physics, though some of the topics were interesting. Generally frustrating.

102 is for majors, so if you're not interested in the subject take 201. vonbaeyer is a good professor, just look at all the teaching awards he's received. sweet class, but that's coming from a major

Fantastic lecturer- great demos and pretty easy to follow. I found the tests and homework incredibly easy. I never opened the textbook; his lectures provide almost all of the info you need. Really funny, enthusiastic guy.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Hans is a phenomenal teacher, but the subject material is impossible. Unless you are really interested in majoring in physics and you know you're really good at it, do NOT take it. It will make your life a living hell and you will hate school because of it.

Prof. Von Baeyer is a very good lecturer, unless you already know the material. In that case, this class is extremely boring and easy, I reccoment taking 201.

Generally dull lecturer, but will say something funny every now and then and demonstrations are cool. Tests are pretty easy until you get to the impossible final.

great professor. he is so interested and enthusiastic about the material and is really helpful if you go to see him. tests are quite hard and what the class is more theoretical than the tests. overall a great professor though, you have to love physics.

This prof. is uber. He is very enthusiastic and makes you appreciate physics even if you didn't before. He's always doing fun demos (rocket sled for example), but like somebody said, he does like his calc proofs. I bought two of his books.

While he is a very nice man and loves physics obviously, I struggled in this course. I had to meet with a tutor for three hours a week to get a C- in the course. His tests get harder and harder every year.

If you didn't take Calc I and Calc II before this class, don't take it. He semi-bell curves the class by adjusting test difficulty year by year. Our class's test were hard, but last year, the tests were easy. He says that the class avg should be a C+.

Von Baeyer is responsible for my satifying career and good salary. I'm now a science writer, tahnsk to his versatility, great grasp of teaching, and ability to communicate on a conceptual level. He is "easy" to learn under if you have drive&love

Nice guy. Very upper level thinker, but does a good job most of the time with making concepts clear. Sometimes gets carried away with calc proofs, try to have completed calc I before you start this course or you may be a bit lost.

He is hilarious, not cuz he tries to be, but just because he is. He's also hard though, don't fall behind on the material or skip the lectures, also go to the problem session if you want to do well
