Trey is great instructor and will do what he can to help you. He is a tough grader but tells you exactly what you did wrong and how to fix it. You will have homework almost every week. The homework is relatively easy but is time consuming. Be ready for fill in the blank quizes and a big group project.

Trey is an awesome professor. As long as you show up to class and participate, the class is fun and easy to follow. There are many assignments, but he goes into extreme detail on what he expects. This class isn't easy, but you learn a lot of valuable information. Didn't use either of the books once. Would take again :)

Trey is the bomb. His classes are tough, but that only means he's doing his job. He grades according to the rubrics, goes over every last detail on expectations in class, & in my opinion cares about his job more than all other BCA profs. Take Trey... u prob won't receive an A, but you'll learn a bunch.

Trey is a very heartless person. He is a very tough grader. He tries to be a nice guy, but he really is not. He has his favorite students in class and the rest he does not give two sh*ts about. Wish I could say take a different professor but since he's the only one for this course, you are stuck with him.

Trey is a fantastic professor. He's light-hearted, funny, down-to-earth, and easy to get along with. He's almost always available in his office and is very helpful. I've had him for three classes and enjoyed each one of them due to his excellent teaching style.

While Trey is an extremely meticulous grader, he has been one of the most helpful and knowledgeable professors I've had at CMU. The best advice for being successful in his classes: work hard. If you're not willing to put in your best effort, consider another professor.

Trey is the coolest, and in my opinion, the best professor in the BCA department, you will learn a lot from his classes (I took him for 311 and 332). He is the most helpful professor I've ever encountered, and will help you with anything you need. ALSO trey never surprises you on quizzes what you need to know is what he tells you that you need2no

Going into Trey's course, I was terrified. Knowing it was going to be a challenge, I tried my hardest from the very start. Trey is very meticulous with both writing and formatting. However, if you go to his office hours he is unbelievably helpful and accommodating. Show him that you care about your grade & he will help you do well. Expecting an A-.

I wish I could say avoid this professor, but unfortunately he is the only one who teaches this course. Try avoiding asking questions, even if he asks if you have any, he doesn't take kindly to reiterating subject matter briefly covered in class. Those who do are berated and made to feel dumb.

Trey is a great professor. He's my favorite within the BCA department and it's my major so I've had a lot of different profs. He is very fair. You MUST go to class if you want to get a good grade, but his notes are perfectly outlined and translate directly to tests. His assignments and projects aren't too bad, just follow the guidelines EXACTLY.

He's very knowledgeable. Lectures were great. But his grading is RIDICULOUS. I had to bust my ass for a B-. He doesn't grade fairly and barely gives feedback on assignments. He deducted 18 out of 50 points and wrote 5 words explaining why. He teaches you to write effective copy. But grades you on if he likes it or not. Avoid if possible.

Trey is a great professor! Yes, he is a tough grader. However, you will learn so much in his class. He's also hilarious and class is rarely boring. I would highly recommend taking this class with him. Prepare to work a little harder, but get a lot of real life experience out of this class.

Trey is an amazing professor. His grading can be a little picky, but that's really no different from any other bca professor. He is extremely helpful, always willing to clarify, easy to contact and makes himself as available to students as he possibly can. He's also very humorous and friendly, making class more enjoyable.

Trey is a good guy, who works hard to teach his students. He may grade harshly, but he tell you exactly what he is looking for and what he will grade you down for. If you pay attention to what he says you will do well in the class, and he is always willing to help you with your projects.

ok, now the reason the class could be considered hard is because of the subject matter. i for one wanted to go into broadcasting by being a news reporter. now, somebody explain to me how this has anything to do with new reporting. it doesnt, dont major or minor in BCA if you go to CMU. its pointless anyways, major or minor in journalism.
