She LOVES everything that she teaches. It's very clear that she has a passion about it. You will have to work for your grade. She can be annoying at times, especially with her fake laugh, but maybe that's just me. Her class isn't easy but it isn't necessarily hard either.

Comment:

Grades like a Nazi on the journal entries but she is very nice and is passionate about the subject. WIth easiness I would give her about a 2.5. I worked pretty hard for a B. I did however learn a lot. She reminds me alot of every English teacher in high school and middle school, you know like the little old lady who loved the subject.

Dr Mackay is seriously awesome. She's not easy per se, but she wants you to understand things and'll go out of her way to help if you need it. She's willing to take risks and teach things others might not consider "academic" enough. Like this fantasy lit course. We're reading Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter,and I'm having fun but learning a lot.

I saw she had a neutral face and it made me really sad. Dr. Mackay is the best professor I have had at Elon. She is passionate and knowledgeable about what she teaches, thus making her a very engaging professor. Also, she's like the cute, little Southern grandmother everyone wants. Take Arthurian Legend with her -- you won't regret it!
