Dont waste your time taking this class! You have a 100% to pass this class with 0% knowledge. I took Eng 93 with Green and I felt I did not learn anything. Any of my written essays were graded and he kept telling me I was a good writer. He in fact lost my file with all my essays there! I never missed a class, did all my hmk and I passed with a C!

I came looking for an education on how to become a better writer. My writing skills are below par and I was wrong â€" I never learned anything because Green can’t teach. The guy has no idea on how to pass knowledge on to another. I’m so disappointed that the English department did not hire someone who had the ABILITY to teach.

It was a challenge at first because he isn't a traditional type of teacher. However, I learn so much and he made it exciting to learn. He pushed me beyond my limits. Really excited about my writing future.

The worst teacher I have ever had at city college. Very disorganized, didnt give back papers, at times didnt even show up. Not clear at all on what he's asking for. I was very irritated and frustrated in his class. Im used to having instructors that are clear and helpful. He's not at all. DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!! Waste of your time and money...

If was expecting an English 93 class. Prof was extremely disorganized, teaching a LGBT/Minorities themed class. I don't think that is a bad thing, but when a class is so themed, it is usually stated in the catalog. I wanted a broader range of topics and to learn more grammar with more emphasis on writing structure. Very displeased with this Prof.

Our class is relieved that this teacher has left and we now have a sub. Now we get to try and salvage the class, with one month left of the semester. Don't take his class if you want an actual education in writing or anything pertaining to Eng. If you want weird theatrics, general bs, and dumbfounding disorganization, he's the one for you.

Green should not be teaching anywhere. It shocks me that he has tenure at CCSF. He does not provide even a syllabus, does not return or grade papers,rambles incoherently and does not stick to any plan that he himself proposes. A total wast of your time. You will not learn to improve your writing, you will learn to endure inanity. Don't take him!!

If you need a lot of structure, Herb will drive you nuts. Take Jenny Worley instead. If you already write well and want an interdisciplinary perspective on the history and politics of language & voice, you'll love him. Herb's BRILLIANT, but hard to follow if you don't have a cultural studies background. *Rad* readings by POC/queer authors.

Green is unprofessional, unprepared, unskilled, self-aggrandizing, totally disorganized. He likes to tell you that he's "really smart". Papers turned in may never be graded or returned to you. 50% of the class quit. Why does he have tenure? Why isn't English dept. looking out for the welfare of the students? Herb Green LOVES teaching, loves literature and definitely is a brilliant guy. He's also got a problem, which is teaching at a level that is way beyond the level of the class. Outside of that, he's awesome, and he is looking for one thing: Your interest and participation. If you participate, you'll do well. If you don't, he'll screw you.

The class before the final, he didn't show up and was completely unreachable. For the final, he was 30 min late. Lectured on the same material for weeks in a row. We didn't get to half of the work assigned in the syllabus. Frustrating, waste of time. Not even worth an "easy A" you feel like you wasted 60 bucks and precious hours.
