Really solid professor choice. She makes you work for your grades, but it's better for that in early math classes so then higher level ones are easier to understand. A great professor that not only sets you up for success in your class, but for the future as well

Smart professor, but awful at teaching. She is all over the place during the lectures and the handwriting is absolutely atrocious.T he material is hard to begin with and it does not help when you can't even comprehend what she is putting up on the board. She is not an easy person to approach as she will give you an attitude and not answer it.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. beginning of the semester was okay then after midterms it went down hill. She has an awful attitude and is completely rude. While attending office hours she told me its not here job to teach me and I need to figure out calculus by myself. All I asked for was to have her walk through ONE sample problem with me .

She is a very sweet lady and you can tell she wants everyone to succeed. She grades kindly but there is a lot of work to do outside of class. She is a little cray sometimes, but no complaints.

She is absolutely horrible! I got sick for a week and a half, missed 2 weeks of material and had to take the test that was on the day I came back to class two days later. I ended up failing the class. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone, she is so hard to learn from and doesn't care about you as a person. Definitely do not take any of her classes!!!

Dr. Nicodemi is inspirational. She is extremely helpful and loves talking to aspiring students. Her classes are tough, but she does implement a hefty curve that will boost your grade. She grades based on how well the class does. Don't just pay attention to the number grades. Talk to her and build a relationship. She will help with anything you need

There is a lot of leeway on exams as long as there is conceptual understanding of the material. Just check your math grammar and enjoy professor Nicodemi's stories of Newtonian Calculus.

Comment:

Nicodemi is a sweet lady who cares about her students. I would much prefer to have her as a grandma instead of a professor. This class allowed the bright students to excel and those who struggled with math were left in the dirt. She is willing to help, but there isn't much you can do to perform well on tests without natural mathematics ability.

You would learn a fundamental, mathematical proof skill in the class. She gave us the ebook she published, so I didn't buy any textbook for the class. If you preview the chapter before she talk about it in the class, you must catch up the material easily. No Effort No Gain!! I got 80 something in all exams, and it ended up with A-. Easy Grader''

She very much is "that professor" that high schools tell you about; no spoon-feeding whatsoever. Her tests and quizzes could be easy, only if you actually do the hw (which is never turned in, so no one bothers). The only time class made sense is when the TA taught.

Decided to write after reading review below. Future possible students, the info given below is not true. If you go to class, and do the homework, you will learn. Her lectures are great, you learn a lot. The quizzes and test are of homework and class work. Also for tests she gives a review sheet that will be similar to what is on the test.

Extremely bright professor. Loves math. Does an inadequate job of actually teaching anything. Sample problems done in class are nothing like the things done on quizzes, and tests are a whole separate world. Take her class and you basically have to teach yourself the material, and that in itself is difficult with this textbook.

The best and sweetest professor I have had at Geneseo. Nicodemi requires a lot of work outside of class, but it pays off. I have learned so much from her. She has had a huge impact on my time here.

Nicodemi is a wonderful professor. She leaves the fresh baked pie of Calculus sitting on the windowsill, allowing the aroma to drift through the minds of all those who wish to indulge in it. Equipped in her multi-pocketed safari vest, she will lead you through the treacherous plains of mathematics, teaching you to appreciate it on the way.
