WORST PROFESSOR EVER. The class is sooooooooooooo boring and he speaks soo low, and doesn't make any sense... My 3rd week with him and I HAD to drop the class.

The class has no excitement and he carries A and B convos with certain students, leaving the rest of the class to just sit there (waste 30 minutes of my life every class meeting). Half the time (or should I say most)he talks about stuff irrelevant to what we are going over. He's repetitive and unorganized.

Nice Professor,but gets off topic easily, drags class, eye opener at times, expects students to step up their game as a college student, reviews literature from K-12, he's passionate about English, he's a bit unorganized, and forgetful but his class is doable for at least an average grade if you past the mastery. Hes good but tough at grading.

Through 5 semesters at Delta i have a 3.96 GPA and im a pre-med major. My one B came from Mr. Powell. He is very unclear, vague and hard to talk to. Would not recommend his course unless you love english and want a challenge.

He is easily the worst instructor I've ever had. On our final essay, my initial grade was a 75%... However, he whited-out the grade and changed it to a 30%. I asked him why and said I didn't write a good paper. If that's the case, then why the heck was my initial grade a solid c??????? Terrible professor. Don't ever take his class.

He's a nice guy, but I don't recommend taking him. He doesn't take into account if your sick and you can't email him because he never reads his emails. The class went from 20+ students to 9 students within 2 weeks and a majority of the students transferred classes. Grades VERY harshly and don't expect to take much notes that are remotely relevant.

Worst professor I have ever taken! He rambles on about nothing in the entire class session and he is very unorganized. He randomly assigns homework assignments when he feels like it. He does not care if you are in a club or sport he will assign as much homework as he wants and grades very hard on the essays. I would stay away from his class!

The worst instructor I had in my life. he has some kind of dyslexia or incapacity at reading. He uses outside help to grade the essays (the writing on the reviewed papers is different than his) and this second instructor knows nothing about what Mr. Powell teaches or not teaches in class. Do not take his class!!!!

As a person, I really like Powell. We had some pretty interesting conversations after class. However he is unclear, rambles about unrelated subjects, contradicts himself frequently, and has a terrible memory. I learned nothing and grew increasingly frustrated with his unhelpfulness. I wouldn't suggest him.

Professor Powell has a passion for English. I've learned a whole lot from being in his class. If you expect to do well at a university his course will definitely prep you for it. Homework only takes 15-20 minutes, really easy. If you're looking for just a passing grade and not learning anything at all, think about taking a different teacher.

OMG!!! Do not take this teacher. I took him for summer 10 not only was he a horrible teacher but you learn absolutely NOTHING!!! I am a great writer and just barely passed with a C and have been an A student since high school.
