I really liked Emerson. I fell asleep a few times, some of the material can be extremely boring, but thats Biology to me. His notes were'nt great by no means, but I found that if you went to class, took notes of what he said there and actually listened, you would do fine. I would recommend him!!

He is a horrible prof. I agree with everyone's previous comments. He is very boring and his notes absolutely suck. Tests are okay, but you will have to study your butt off to get a good mark if you're relying on the notes. I wish I dropped this course with him and got another prof :(

Actually, Ian Emerson was a great prof, he was always there when I had a question. He seemed very interested in his students and did what he could to help. I found him excellent, and I would definetly take another course tought by him.

he is very nice. but him teaching biology it isn't so nice. his lectures were really hard to be in, i gave up on going and start teaching myself (which then i improve), he has horrible notes posted online, and u got to know your stuff 4 tests. if you enjoy biology at all, i advise choosing a different teacher. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

He's a very nice guy and as an academic advisor he's great and has all his advisees fill out a sheet of things which will help him give advice. If you go to him, he will help you. He cares about his students. That said, his online notes are horrible. The point of notes is to use them to study, not to use them like an expanded course outline.
