The worst Professor I ever had at JMSB. He doesnt know how to teach. His midterm, worth 33%, is super hard. Take someone else for this course. I dont recommend this Prof at all.

His teaching was okay but his midterm was horrible!! He had to curve the whole class because so many people had failed. Unfortunately the midterm wasn't common so students with other teachers got much better grades on the midterm than his section. AVOID!!!

Seriously one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is funny, clear handwriting, clear explanations and relevant examples in class. Go to class because he gives a lot of hints for his midterm. Also you get an assignment instead of a second midterm for free marks! His office hours are flexible and he will always help you outside of class.

Take someone else not only is he extremely boring and a terrible teacher, his midterm is impossible. The only upside is instead of having two midterms you have one midterm and one wiley assignment. Choose someone else

Awesome prof. Made 308 comprehensible and somewhat enjoyable, which is tough considering the course is not the easiest. Go to class and do as many problems as you can, you'll get an A!

Avoid for introductory courses and do not bother asking "simple" questions; you will be met with arrogance rather than helpful information. Not very understanding/compassionate when it comes to student needs or troubles.

He is a pretty good teacher and explained things better than the tutorials did. At times the class would be confused but in other times he made topics seem a lot easier than they looked. A few times i felt like class was pointless most times it was well taught.

You have to teach yourself a lot. Most of the teachers will not do as good of a job, especially when it comes to Time value of money. I did the tutorials, and past finals over and over again and that's how I understood the material. Prof Rakita does a good job with post midterm stuff (there were 2 common midterms). He WAS NOT the course coordinator

He's actually a good teacher and will give you a chance to succeed. Material is not easy to get and practice is a must. He has a plan for each class where he writes notes and does example problems. For complicated topics, he tends to ask if everyone understands before moving on. What you get in the exam is what he covers in class.

Ian Rakita was the coordinator of the course during fall 2016. He wrote the book, and he is only good for writing book. He is useless in delivering the content to the student. He is never prepared, as he comes and write things on the board as agenda, but he misses a lot of material. He is all over the place. His lectures barely prepare you for exam

I really liked him. I get the sense that he enjoys teaching and it shows in class. Very knowledgable and goes through material pretty clearly. Comm 308 is a course that requires you to take some initiative yourself. You can't just show up to class and get an A.

He teaches Fina 412 in the summer, what he covers in class is what you get for the test. He doesn't throw curve balls. Of course if you didn' study you wont get a good grade as the content is harder than normal. But if you do the problems he does with you in class over and over the Midterm and Final will be relatively easy and you should get your A

He explains the material fairly well. The course is hard, so make sure you go to class. That's the course though, not him. He gives feedback if you ask for it.

Actually he is a good professor. I don't why there are rating that gives him a bad credit. He provides us many materials to get use to the problems and his explanation is pretty clear. Whenever you go to the office hour, he is kind and clear enough to teach things to make you understand. I recommend you to take his COMM308 class.

Knowledgeable prof, but not so interesting (very monotone). FINA classes are hard and you have to study well. I personnally found that my own studying of the book was more helpful than his teaching. However he allows 10% for participation/attendance so you have a good reason to go. Not that much of a hard marker. Final was way harder than midterm.

Very knowledgeable professor. Material is hard for some, but he teaches well and gives a lot of exercises to practice. Hard marker, but ends up bell curving. Some of his exams may contain different terms other than the book, but this is a result of his advanced knowledge; he may not realize it. Use earplugs during examination: he types on computer

Very knowledgeable professor. Unlike others, I think his grading is pretty fair. If you study well, he can easily give you As and A+s. I strongly recommend him.
