So horrible. So disorganized. Refuses to enable discussion board but yells at students when they are forced to email the rest of us to get an an answer to a question when she NEVER responds to emails. Worst slides of life. Refuses to post yet it's KIND OF important in cuol when the camera man doesn't stay on the slide long enough for us to copy..?

This class is not hard at all. Watch her lectures (CUTV), take notes and memorize. If you're looking to learn and retain the information youll have to do it on your own time because there is way to much in such a short time but if you honestly want a good mark just memorize her slides. I didnt read a page in the text and got an A

TEACHING WRONG MATERIAL. When questioned on it, she said "you must know what this course teaches". Even though it was clearly wrong. I am in science I came to university to learn facts, not someone's twisted version of them. People defending Ildi Munro are obviously not in science.

seems poorly informed, she tends to make mistakes (gets her facts wrong sometimes). my biggest complaint, however, is her lack of communcation. the kids in the cutv class couldn't contact her (didn't reply to emails) and we didn't even know where to go for the midterm. disorganized woman. I felt like she didn't know what she was talking about.

I cannot believe some of the inappropriate things that have been said about this professor. She clearly knows her stuff and does her best to ensure that the students are following - giving ample time after she explains something for questions. Those who did not do well only have themselves to blame.

I absolutely hated the first third of this course, it was brutally boring but got slightly better after that. Doesn't really take a lot of effort if you pay attention in class and it was an elective for me. Ildi tries but she seems a little bitter at times, thinking students are just trying to slip by and is horrible with technology.

Not sure if it's the course or the prof, but it was a nightmare, and that might be an understatement. Her style of teaching did not suit me, and doesn't seem to suit many others. Frazzled, strange way of presenting material, especially strange exams which try to trip you... I would avoid this course with this prof.

sooo theres a bunch of comments about how brutal the course is. false, its actually really easy. admittedly ildi is bad with technology. thats true but what evs. if you attend class and take minimal notes youll do fine. im not going to lie, i did almost nothing, and came out with a high mark. its content is pretty basic stuff for the most part

Honestly, the worst prof I have ever had. Her material is way too much for a 0.5 credit class. Her exams are hard and she is not helpful. Its like she expects you to know everything already. Avoid this class and any other class she teaches, she just needs to retire. I was interested in taking this class, I wish I had never taken this class.

she needs to learn to teach. the worst class at carleton even after being reported for her lack of skill she still remains fumbling over pictures without any sources. 0 personality and the exams are not evenly distributed 13 ch for the final! C'mon retire and save students the grief of your misery.

I found her lectures very engaging, but not always clear. She loves her subject & has a keen sense of irony. It was hard to take good notes due to sheer quantity of material & because she didn't write clearly on the blackboard as she lectured. She was very approachable when I asked for clarification.

She is a terrible professor. I was very interested in the summer before taking this class for fall but she took my hopes and dropped them (in the ocean). I am surprised to the amount of information i have to study for the exams she gives which are unfairly marked i find as well. Terrible professor and i wish I never took this class.

this is by far the worst teacher i have ever had! the concepts she teaches in class are difficult to put together, as she does not clarify how they relate to one another. the tests are brutal, and her expectations of the amount of knowledge you need to have for the exams is excessive.

As a fourth year student, I was suprised how hard I found this class. Ildi was very confused all of the time. Her lectures were boring. Expectations were VERY high for this class. There is way too much material to cover in only one semester! DONT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH ILDI!

I was excited to take oceanography, until I got into this class, I was disappointed with Ildi's lack of communication with the students and confusion over many things in the course material. I dont know how she got to teaching this class, but she should stop, I feel bad that I have to be harsh, but its necessary. Do Not Take this class with Ildi ..

Lots of material for a half credit course - should be a full term course. Felt kind of sorry for Ildi at times - she seemed to be in a constant state of confusion and searching for what she was supposed to be talking about. She should stick to her major and not teach any more oceanography classes. Good attempt though.
