Last midterm he wrote long complicated questions that wasn't clear and I wish if I had dictionary on me to translate some hard words. I studied lectures, labs/ assignments and problem sets but all this weren't enough. You need great English, high speed reading ability. He is a nice guy but his lectures, labs, problem sets aren't enough to get A.

Prof. James Elder is an amazing teacher who genuinely wants to help students to understand the course materials. His notes are extremely helpful, though may looks confusing prior the lessons. Hence, attend the lectures, know his notes really well, and know how to solve the assignment problems, and you will have no problem tackling his exam.

Awful course, bad professor. Acts as if everyone knows everything, his tests and exams were really hard. I advise anyone to avoid him if you can.

He is a good person, but just can't teach at all. You are on your own to study the course. He doesn't clarify questions when asked about assignments, instead he wants you to find it out. His assignment's solution can all be found by googling. He repeats questions from past tests. His tests are OK, In the end you will pass with a B.

He doesn't teach anything at all, you will have to study on your own if you want to learn something substantial. But I think he is aware of his lack of instruction so he doesn't go hard on students, tests are not hard.

One of the best profs I've ever had. Sure the tests are hard and I'm probably not getting an excellent grade, but he is doing his best to explain the material.

Comment:
Disappointed at his consistent mistakes in slides. He is a very talented researcher, but lacks the ability to clearly explain concepts to students. Taught as though this were a hard sciences or math class, not a psych class. Very defensive when suggestions were made about his teaching style/exam finishability. VERY approachable for extra help.

He is one of the most approachable, caring, helpful, and organized professors. He explains material very clearly. His high character is reflected in the way he lectures and the way he treats students. Although this course is very hard, but if you pay attention in class, his clear explanations make you notice that he really knows what he is doing.
